I wonder what the Extras on the DVD will be. I can see it now:
Barf Bag: a Interactive drinking game, drink a beer when you hear the Phrase "Hoser". Commentaries by Bob & Doug. Outakes while drunk. The reasons why we cook Candian back Bacon before we eat it. [This message was edited Tue Oct 1 13:25:51 PDT 2002 by slm4m]

Hockey, donuts and beer? A blab of back bacon? And did we mention beer? At least, that's what matters most to Doug and Bob McKenzie when they bring the goofy lunacy of SCTV's The Great White North to the great wide movie outdoors. Strange, it is. Sounds like my type of movie. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I can't say I'm a big fan. To tell you the truth, English Canadian humor of that period leaves me cold, except for a few SCTV skits -- and the McKensie Bros first bored me on SCTV a very long time ago.
The best beer comedy of all time is a French Canadian play called Broue (Brew!), which I believe had almost as many nights as Cats and O Calcuta combined. I only warmed up to Anglo Can humor when I moved to Toronto and was forced to watch Kids in the hall and Codco. Newfie (Newfoundland) comedians are great -- it seems you got to have a huge sense of humor to live on the Rock and survive. As for Kids in the hall... blame Scott Thompson (I keep bumping into him -- what a nut case!)
