Hope you settle back in no problems, and glad you had a safe trip. Wow, you've done and seen quite a bit this last couple of years huh?

I would talk about resettling but I've not yet really gone back. Maybe in another six years. lol

cool... just a guess really I wasn't sure lol

it's been very strange to be back. I spent almost two weeks in QLD seeing my Dad and StepMum then my StepDad and his wife. I'm now back in NSW where 'home' has been since 11, really, so it's a little less weird now.

a LOT has changed! I can't believe how much everything has gone up in price and changed in other ways, just in two years!! still finding out lots of things every day that aren't the way I remember them lol and I drove yesterday, my best friend's car, for the first time in about 3 years.

hug

Interesting. I found some things a little weird when I went back to the UK at xmas, but similarly I felt really very comfortable at my parents' house, which is where I spent basically all of my life pre-Thailand.

Oh, driving! lol I passed my test first time when I was 18, left home to study and didn't have a car. Drove occasionally upon coming back to see my parents, and then I was off to Thailand. I think I've driven once since then, the first or second time I went back to the UK, but never since I've been living more permanently out here. Must be at least 4 years since I've driven a car, and probably only a couple of times in 6 years, and I doubt I've driven more than thirty times in my whole life, so I'm not sure if I even remember how to drive! falloff

Wow, that was a really long-winded way of saying I haven't driven for a long time. lol

So, what are you enjoying most about being back? And on the flip side, what do you miss most about the UK?

about being back? friends and family, and also being home again and being able to settle down and have a place of my own... miss most about the UK? my friends. It's taken me until this week to come to terms with being so far away from them sad

I also miss the UK itself, and Europe. really miss it. it's home, in a way that nowhere else will most likely be. you're a lucky guy to have a british passport Nick that's all i'll say smile

Somehow I knew your answer would be along those lines. hug

Perhaps I'm lucky, but won't truly be until Mon can have permanent residency status (which I doubt I'll ever have here). For now I'm in limbo, officially living in England but physically living in Thailand. I'm happy though. smile
