It's not the best, but the only one up there from the year. I have to buy my videos from the seasons

I was thinking about marching this fall, but the beginning and the end of the seasons are traumatic

This is so cool. I didn't think I would find any drum corp fans here. I marched with the Bridgemen from 1976 through 1980.

Horn player or drummer?

I played Contra Bass and the Baritone before moving over to the Bass Drum. Couldn't miss me. There weren't to many "ink spots" back then.

For me it was a love hate relationship. I love playing and marching but at the same time I wasn't received too well by most of the other corps. Back then DB was a VERY closed society. If you moms/dads/uncle/aunt/grandfather/grandmother didn't march or if you were not from the "right" social background, you were not accepted. The Bridgemen were a differnt story which is why they were loved by drum corps fans but hated by other drum corps. We went against the norm by doing off-the-wall shows and bucking the norm.

The Bridgement were also very much receptive to all people from all brackgrounds. Most of us came from Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Newark NJ, Trenton NJ, Philadelphia, etc... So we had a much different mindset than from the other corps right up the road. You might remember them as the Garfield Cadets.

I can tell you some stories, some not to good and other that will have you rolling on the floor. But overall I would not change anything. Drum Corps really helped shape my life in so many positive ways.

My oldest son played with the Crossmen (1999 - 2001) before going in to the Marine Corps and later playing with the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps.

Oh wow. I'd like to hear some of those stories. Since I've never been in corp, I have no idea what the mindset is, but even the west coast corps don't seem to have many "ink spots" as you say. However, the drum major of the Blue Devils was an "ink spot." lol
