hah! sucks to be American in England right now.

I'm Irish so we're used to paying silly amounts of money for things.
Though I thought it sucked to be an American anywhere now. Bring on November 2008:

phoenix airport has free wifi.. It comes real handy when you miss a connecting flight and you are stuck for 12 hours.

He's a football player. He made an amazing catch apprently. Yeah, he was kinda cute in that older man kinda way. I think the catch he made that was so great happened before I was born. lol

I suppose it's not all that much and I can probably get my work to cover it, except that I'm having trouble getting into my vpn for work so I'm not actually able to get into my work stuff. lol So I may not be able to justify it.

Yeah, he caught the hail mary to clinch a playoff game for Dallas in the '70's. Staubach to Pearson.

Oh, you mean the asshole who intentionally committed offensive pass interference to catch it while not getting any flag and kept the Vikings from going to the Superbowl in 1976.

I don't know why that surprises me so much since you're obviously smart and sensible enough for the job by far. Maybe I'm surprised because you're usually unwilling to get into conflicts yourself so I figured you'd also be unwilling to mediate other people's conflicts. Oh well, either way I think you have potential to be a fantastic moderator and congratulations for getting the job. thumbs up!

As for internet in hotel rooms, I just got back from Sicily and the hotel room had a flat screen tv and a wireless keyboard on the desk below. Turns out that there's a multimedia function where you can use the internet for 4 euros per day (which isn't bad) or get the whole package with unlimited pay-per-view movies (including their wide selection of adult movies innocent), internet and music for a total of 20 euros per day. I thought it was pretty high tech stuff and a relatively reasonable price too. Only problem was that once you've payed your twenty euros you want good value for your money and end up wasting almost a whole day watching movies. disbelief

Okay, I guess I have to ask a direct question to get a response: Why did you choose to become a moderator, Carrie? smile

I think NY/NJ hotels charge 12 dollars for 24 hours. UK is the worst 15 pounds a day.. what a rip off...

I'm not sure how much the wi-fi is in my hotel in London in August but seeing as breakfast is 35 dollars a head, it mightn't be a bargain. Nice hotel though.

i'll give you a pint of milk and abox of cornflakes for 20 dollers when yuo get here!!

Thanks for the offer but I'll pass. My healthy diet will consist of several espressos for breakfast followed by a mojito or three for lunch. My body is a temple and I excel in its desecration.
