You've heard this schpiel before lol, but...

Lammas is the Christianized Old Gaelic harvest festival of Lughnassadh, held around Aug. 1. Lammastide is simply the season around that festival. It traditionally was a time for the last big summer bashes and a looking forward to autumn's more quiet, introspective time.

I picked the name because I'm a sucker for most things esoteric, Irish, etc. Also the festival heralds my favorite time of year -- the cusp of summer and fall. Lastly, I'm not a NeoPagan, but I think there's something enriching about taking time to appreciate what the earth gives up for us and to observe seasonal cycles of birth, maturation, death, resurrection in nature as reflective of our own lives. I think I'm at a sort of personal "Lammastide."

Well, I selected Muse2NOPharaoh when the album dropped as I found the lyrics a tad bit offensive to women. As time would have it, I have come to reconcile my strength with the softer attributes of being a woman and as irony would have it... my not so subtle protest turned into my nickname EVERYWHERE Muse....As life would have it the duality of it all is very fitting!

My handle comes from something I use to say when I was working a horrid job and someone would ask me how I was doing. To try to stay positive I'd say, "Oh life's nothing but joy..." but usually I came off as rather sarcastic.

So, that's me to a "T".

My avvie is reflective of my two sides...loving and raging.

Hell I even call you Karfen! wink I miss you hug We definitely need to catch up on life. I'm an uncle again smile I'm learning a lot and coming to places I want to be. I miss you to Dear man... need to gather in LA soon. Or, omfg Maybe I should go to bingo with you one day.... Jeri would so love that. .. Yes, I saw the pic of you and child was sweet... Hope sis is getting some sleep... Got my real estate license and am off on another break just as soon as my books arrive for my 2 follow up classes..

Karfen is a great Herman story...

(Gooeyhamster to many) Anyway we came in from an invasion night at oh I don't know 4:30 am ish and Herman posted a bit then we were off to bed... morning comes and I am in the shower.... hes laughing and preping breakfast and coffee.... I get out and go over to breakfast and then he jumps in the shower and I look at the invasion thread... I see everyone is referring to me as Karfen as he did the early hours... so I go to him HERMAAAANNNNN Everyone is calling me Karfen... Yes I know he shouts... I said well does that mean something in Dutch? smile No, its a TYPO!

lol The rest is history!

Well "Freespirit" has almost entirely disappeared and Julie is more often used instead. (not because I have ever asked my real name to be used)

"Freespirit" is an identifiable name when I log on, mostly... and in reality, I appreciate others using my given birth name, it's far more personal and endearing to me. rose
