Whats the difference between a woman wearing clothes that flatter her figure and shape and makeup that flatters her features? She'd be alright to wear a short skirt to show her legs off but not apply some blusher to emphasise her face shape...bit odd really. Clothes are also used to detract from body parts a woman isnt happy with.
Anyway, its a matter of choice. ... [Edited 5/13/07 15:45pm] Research concurs with your opinion After make-up...

But seriously I've been thinking about trying either MAC ProLash or DiorShow b/c I hear about them so often. I'm pretty faithful to Maybelline Xtreme (w/ the primer) but I dunno, the thought of spending more than $7 on my eyeliner bugs me For daytime:
*Full n' Soft For night time:
*Last Expansion or *Sky High Curves always, always, always in Very Black. I just bought a Stila Smudge Pot (eyeliner) a couple weeks ago. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to use make-up remover to get it off. I just looked @ mine, it's Maybelline XXL - I love that shit! Also, MAC makeup remover wipes are excellent - they don't irritate your eyes, they're big enough for your whole face & that have a bit of moisture so they don't dry out your skin. I use those so I don't mess up my towels I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it

Why not call attention to your stunning green eyes and away from your crooked nose? It's not like you're putting your nose in your purse, only to pull it out later, like "Ah HA! Fooled you, SUCKER!" Should she instead paint her nose red like fuckin' Rudolph, just to make sure you're aware of it? Well, I've never dwelled in that question, so my views are not strong. But basically, if you're trying to hide your crooked nose, aren't you basically fooling the person to think you don't have a crooked nose? I'd like to know that what I see is what I get. I can understand lipstick, but sometimes make up can be used to make you look completely different. the right shadings can make your face's shape look different. Believe me, when someone has a feature like a crooked nose they KNOW that they are fooling no one and that there is no way to be able to fool someone. Like I said, makeup can't change features, it can only draw attention to them. The only way I can see makeup being "fake" is if someone had discoloured skin and they used foundation makeup to hide that, or maybe false eyelashes...everything else is just used as a tool to make certain features stand out.

True The only fake thing about makeup is its marketing. We are well aware, however, that the gorgeous 17 year old who is advertising foundation has been photoshopped to hell and back. I love America's Next Top model but they always do a foundation advert at some point and although they are on the whole very fresh faced girls Tyra is quite open about the airbrushing on their photos. Having said all that I am a massive fan of Prescriptives Foundation as I have olive skin and it is one of the few that doesn't leave me looking too yellow or too pink.

Try Prescriptives Virtually Fresh. I'm tanned aswell at the moment and could never find a shade for my summer skin but they have a massive selection of shades and they match it for you by brushing onto the jawline so I'm using Natural Beige at the moment. They also custom blend a unique foundation for you if you have real trouble - quite costly thought I think.

So tell me what your reasons are for wearing makeup? Is it societal pressure or self esteem issues? I like my women Au Naturale.....TALK TO ME LADIES!! I don't wear makeup at all except lipstick!

I wear very little makeup. I like to add alittle bit of color to my face, it makes me feel good:). I do dye my hair, quite often. I have acrylic nails on my fingers. I have nail polish on my toes. I have my brows waxed. I dont tan, I dont have fake boobs. I think I was taught to do cetain thinks becasue I am a female. I think I just follow the "girly rules". I dont think its deceit, just makes me feel a bit better about myself. Say it's just a dream...

I think it's unnecessary to spend a lot of money on mascara (and also other make-up products) when there are cheaper ones who are just as great. Max Factor's 2000 Calorie Mascara is my favorite and costs more than enough. Then again, I'm fortunate enough to have naturally long, curved lashes so I don't have to do that much to get it right. The most important factor is that they separate my lashes well and keep them lump-free. [Edited 5/15/07 12:33pm]

I have tried so many different mascaras, but my fave is Cliniques High Impact mascara I tend to spend more on eye makeup cos the skin around the eye area is so sensitive and you dont wanna be putting shit on there. Foundations, I spend more, cos it gives a cleaner finish imo.. I will love you forever and you will never be forgotten - L.A.F. ![]()

Nobody's all natural, thank god!
Makeup isn't necessary (and it's a little weird when you think about it), but neither is yoga, little black dresses, shaving, long hair, eating right, or any number of things that are either healthy, fun, sexy or interesting. My Legacy

I've only realised recently just how much I enjoy spending ages putting on make up, particularly eye make up, because I miss painting portraits! Maybe it is deceit, but then so is the way I dress up on a Saturday night, all tucked into a perfect hourglass - cause I don't look like that in jeans and a t shirt every other day of the week! Having said that, its a confidence thing...if I couldnt care less, I dont wear make up. If its a bad day, I go all out. My best friend says I hide behind my eyelashes, I get them so long when I want to Rock n roll baby

Ace said: DexMSR said: to hide shit or enhance something that is not entirely yours is just deception.
Most women don't wear makeup to "hide" things; they wear it because it's social custom, designed to enhance certain attributes. To call it "deception" is to imply that men don't realize it's makeup, no? So to enhance does not mean to alter its TRUE AND INHERENT look?? A pushup bra is deemed enhancing sagging breasts to give the LOOK of cleavage right? So when that bra comes off...are you then deceived? Or do you say to that woman...that is a great fucking bra you got me with? You understand my point.
