the premise of such a statement is salty to say the least

I don’t care if Tammy Fay Baker is bleeding mascara from her forehead ... women accentuate what they want.... its not the dairy aisle

Dex I am disappointed...

I wear makeup out in public as to why....it's too 'enhance' my face I guess you could say. I prefer getting glammed up but there have been many day outings where I scrunch my hair and just put on lotion. If I'm broken out I wear it so I don't throw up on my mirror smile

Traditionally, makeup is worn to make yourself more attractive to men. The reason why women started wearing lipstick and blush is to replicate the flushed look of ones' face after sex. As for foundation and mascara I dunno about those

OK, here is one thing that bugs the shit out of me. GET OVER BEING OUT OF THE HOUSE WITHOUT MAKEUP! lol My mother will literally let her children die if it means she has to leave to the hospital without putting makeup on first lol My mother looks totally fine without it, always has but she is a freak about that shit.

I go to the gym for aesthetic reasons (the health benefits are just a bonus).

I guess my point is, if we all went "au naturel", the hairstyling, razor and deodorant businesses would all be extinct.

So it is about aesthetics then? Aesthitics to me is dressing up nicely, but to hide shit or enhance something that is not entirely yours is just deception.

Soooo...what happened? You woke up one morning and freaked out seeing someone next to you who's makeup had rubbed off, and it got scarey?

For me.
it depends on the girl.

Some women are born with a natural compexion that needs no enhancing.
Some are born with with a face that lends itself well to cosmetics.
And some are just born with a really big set of knockers which makes the whole idea of make-up kind of a moot point really.

Oh,
& BTW,
I don't discriminate.
I'd do 'em all.
A piece of ass is still a piece of ass,
regardless of whether they need an "aesthetitic paper bag" to cover their mug or not.

That would just be shallow.

And I wasn't raised that way.

come on dex, there was a time when it was fashionable for men to wear powdered wigs and high heels. i know, i know... that follows your whole "sheep" thing confused

i probably put some mascara on for my birthday two months ago... before that it was probably new years. so what? if i do my makeup up for a nice night out you aren't going to tell me i look nice? we do lots of things that make us feel nice. make up is only one of them. big deal.

We humans have always liked to paint our faces.
I usually keep my make-up very natural. What I mostly want is to enhance what I like most about my face, my eyes, so they get even more intense. I see applying make-up as a work of art and it is so fascinating for me to see how you can change your look or enhance your best features. It's like painting a picture...

Well for me I have always have had a really bad acne problem, and over many years of trying high end products I found one (MAC) that will cover it up and stop continuous breakouts as long as I use my acne medication on a daily basis. For me when I break out it makes me feel really really really conscious about how I look, because nobody wants to look like a peperoni pizza on their face. Yes I acknowledge that I am insecure about it, but the make up when I am out in public makes me feel better about myself and well it makes me feel pretty too. So I guess for me it is a little bit of deceit and perception.

There's archeology discoveries in Egypt including tombs with natural forms of makeup and cosmetics. (the Cairo Museum is one of the best in the world)
Women have been doing this for centuries. WHY? part of enhancing one's self for reproduction and attracting the best suiter. (we can be picky)
It's the scheme of things.
You want a natural woman?? There're out there.
Makeup, clothes, plastic surgeons, appearance in general is about 40% men and 60% us.

altho i disagree with makeup playing a part in deception most folks on this thread busied themselves defending the reasons why they do/don't wear makeup i find that very interesting hmmm

to answer the qustion: im not a big makeup wearer but i do think it enhances ones' features with no deceit involved

so call me dexy-i won't get any makeup on ur pillowcases batting eyes

that's not deception. That's just a bad pic. I've heard how naturally beautiful she is.

There's a difference in a bad pic and looking bad without makeup.

You can tell she's still cute.

She looks exactly the same, in the sense that all her features are the same. In the makeup pic, her eyes just grab your attention because they are rimmed in dark makeup.

I still fail to see how makeup is deception.

I don't wear makeup, but I'm suspicious of a guy who likes women without makeup. I had a friend in college who would go on about the virtues of women without makeup, but he would go out with the most beautiful women on campus with the most perfect angelic faces.

That is, I'm sure you appreciate your beauty and it's not all "inner beauty" you're looking for either. Just the fact that you claim makeup might be deception, perhaps indicates that you like TRULY beautiful women who don't NEED makeup. It just seems to be another double standard that women are subject to. shrug

well...by this post it seems to me that you have never been TRULY in love with a woman....

makeup is deception....??!!!

you need to look into your womans eyes (mascara or no mascara) see her soul, her heart, her passion, her love 4 life, her adventure, her dreams, her ambitions, her strength, her insecurities, her vulnerabilities, her past, her ideas of the future, her family, your children in her eyes, her gentleness, her kindness....

not what she does or doesn't have on her face!!

I think make up is an art and I love it. It is like creating a painting on your face and you can be any kind of woman you wish to be in it. Many different looks with it.

At work I wear alot of make up and enjoy the process of creating whatever look I want. Full on fantasy/stage make up.

When I am at a library or out in my daily life just give me some mascara and I'm good to go.
