it happened to a very beautiful friend of mine, the girl her boyfriend cheated on her with was not as physically attractive as her, in her own words, "ordinary" (like the rest of us!!). It really messed with her mind, she was a bright one too, but STILL she worried that her own personality or intelligence was inferior to the other girl.

I'd say if the other girl is hotter, then at least you have the excuse that your BF is shallow and to hell with him!

I'm sure either would crush me. Though uglier than me would mean it was more than just physical.
