3 more seasons of LOST!!!!! Season 3 is drawing to an end, 3 episodes to go! Today it was announced that ABC gave producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse a 'go' for three more seasons! Lindelof & Cuse have always said that they have an ending for the series scripted already, they only didn't know how much time they had.....
Can we keep on for 48 more episodes???? I'm getting frustrated!

To be honest, I think it's going too long. I think they should've been found by the end of the second season.

Oh HELL yes!

I think two more seasons would be good as long as they make a few big revelations along the way to keep us interested, or maybe one super-tight season where a bunch of loose ends are tied up in every episode, but three more seasons? No thanks. This probably means that they will have to introduce more characters as filler, and those characters will have like 30 flashbacks each.

I was hoping season 4 would be the last! Maybe I'm getting old, but, i.e. the last episode 'The Brig', I really had to dig in my memory to figure out the link between Sawyer, Locke and Locke's 'father'.....if this will go on, I will tune off at some point! I want some answers.....what about them fuckin' polar bears?????
Oh, but if they promise to fill the 48 episodes with Elizabeth Mitchell nekkid, I'll say 'Hell YES!!!!'

Apperently they have found flight Oceanic 815.....soemwhere off the coast of Bali, 4 miles down in some trench in the ocean.....they have also found the passengers, all are dead! The island is purgatory.....

I am happy that it's getting the right amount of episodes to conclude the show. I have always figured that this type of show should go 5 seasons.
I am not so certain about this 3 season stretch of 16 episodes. While not milking LOST like an X-File Cow, they are essentially taking 2 seasons and stretching it to 3. I'd rather see 2 seasons of 24 episodes and then just end. But more so I am really happy the enddate is not end of season 4, as I was fearing as they have answered quite a bit and could easily rush this to it's end. But then they would not be able to flesh out some stories to thier conclusion, like Libby, Walt or Michael. Seasons 1-3 the set up. Season 4 Answers. Season 5 Getting them Home...if that is to be the end of the story. Mind you, they may not get home, as there may not be a home to get to. I have been suspecting now for a while the bones in the Cave are either Kate & Sawyers or Kate and Jacks...which would lend to a very interesting ending to it all. Christian Zombie Vampires

I am thinking with an end date now in mind there won't be too much "filler". They have tied up many loose ends this season already. I have a hard time trying to understand why this show is so harshly judged, when it's like one of the best shows to grace TV...and certainly is better than most things on right now. It almost unprecedented where a show is judged based on each episode instead of the whole story. Christian Zombie Vampires

Oh shit, I'm so behind on LOST.
I think I have 4 or 5 episodes to catch. The last one I watched had Nikki and Carlos being buried alive or some shit.

The island is purgatory..... It isn't. There is no way that that is the answer...not this far into it with all that has happened ...this will be revealed towards the end of the story along with the smoke monster. Plus it's too easy of an out to have it be purgatory. We've been "guessing" that from the beginning. It's not that obvious. Christian Zombie Vampires

In my opinion they haven't tied up many loose ends at all. There are actualy more loose ends being created each episode than are being tied up. I'm still watching though, and hoping...

I hope I'm not spoiling anything for anyone here (or if anyone is serious about this at all), but the producers/writers have said that they are definitely NOT in hell/purgatory.
Anyway, I don't know if I like this 16 episodes idea. Especially the wait between seasons will be LONG. This one ends now in May, the next one starts next February.

Plus, Locke's dad was suggesting that the island is hell and everybody who is on it is dead.....whatever....

Can we keep on for 48 more episodes???? I'm getting frustrated! I think these shows should be done like Spanish soap operas that are meant to last between 60-100 episodes max. I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

I slightly disagree with this. There is a lot of innuendo and hinting at many of the answers. I also don't think many of the things that are warranting answers are very easily explained...to quip a LOST line "It's complicated".FOr me that's part of what makes it so great...leaving things open to interpretation, like all good science fiction. I also think that some "answers" wanted are fan driven. For instance, why was it so important we found how Locke got in his Wheelchair? The fact that he was in one should have been suffiucient. But the fans wanted to know the "how"...hence an answer musit be given (and therefore an episode dedicated to that answer). One thing I can think of to "improve" the story telling and pacing...FIX THE FLASHBACKS. Ok, so the flashbacks are here for good. How about tying them into the island story or give us flashbacks of folks we have yet not seen. Personally, I wish they'd do away with them and have them only if warranted a flashbac. They would certainly hold more gravity than they do now. Christian Zombie Vampires

We visit Vincent wandering around and he comes across the grave Walt dug for the real Vincent. Christian Zombie Vampires

My guess is that Flight 815's demise was covered up, so no one went looking for "survivors" and found the island by accident. THAT Or there is another time line in which 815 did crash, but not on the island. Lockes dad DID explain how he got there..He was in a car accident and the last thing he remembers is the ambulance ride and the IV. If the IV had any of the seditives Juliet took for her trip, it would explain how he got there without knowing what happened. I doubt Locke's dad knew anything. He probably guessed he was dead. I dunno, there seems to be way way way too much plot and far too little people for it to be purgatory. Christian Zombie Vampires

Some things can be left open to interpretation, sure. For example I don't need a great big explanation for why some of the characters' lives have intersected in the past. Things like that happen, and could be interpreted as some kind of vague proof that fate exists. But there are also many minor and major things that are too tangible to be left unexplained, like for example the statue with four toes that Sayid saw, or the polar bears, or the Black Rock being way up on land.
In that case I think they're answering the wrong things. They should focus on the plot elements instead. One thing I can think of to "improve" the story telling and pacing...FIX THE FLASHBACKS. Ok, so the flashbacks are here for good. How about tying them into the island story or give us flashbacks of folks we have yet not seen.
