I have never smoked, so I just don't get it. I hate the smell of smoke on me when I go to the casino though.

I did that but I was inhaling deeper best thing to do is set a date get the patches ready for that day and swapp your ciggys for the patches. I was grumpy for the first couple of days then I was ok until I went down in strengh on the patches.

That's good. I had to quit cold turkey, but we're all different.

I was reading on the Onion about these new smokeable nicotine sticks that are far more effective than the patch!

Me too. I couldn't get through a single Marlboro Red, but I could chain smoke ultra lights, and it basically reinforced the habit.

I don't have one, but apparently they fill your lungs with satisfying smoke, and they contain nicotine, a combination which completely curbs the desire for cigarettes! smile

thedribbler

I quit 3 months ago. without plasters, gum etc, lots of caffeine
I enjoyed the smoking but hated the addiction
These days I miss it, a little
At times I find myself full of energy and my brakes don't always work

All in all I'm glad I quit and fully intend to stay that way smile

It happens...My father who has heart problems and has smoked since he was about 15 recently got stressed out and started again. However he is on his way to quiting again. As a smoker it is a constant battle, which I am down to 5 to 6 a day from about a pack a day, which I think is great. What gets me is when I have a drink, that need to have the smoke with it. Like I said it is a constant battle and a hard one, but with much petsistence anyone can quit it is just a matter of time and mind over matter.
