Are you attracted to yourself?

A few years ago I had a girlfriend who was bisexual, which was fun since we could check out girls together. Eventually I realized that not only did she go for a certain type of looks, it was actually her own looks! The features, the body type, everything about these girls kind of looked like my girlfriend herself. It made me laugh and made her a bit embarrassed but also fascinated since she saw that I was right.

Since then I started to notice that a lot of people seem to go for someone who looks like themselves, kind of like dog owners often pick dogs that look a bit like themselves. So if you're completely honest, do you sometimes or even often go for the female or male version of yourself (depending on your gender and orientation)?

I find the phenomenon quite fascinating. smile

Oh no. lol

What if she notices what you've done, won't she take that as an insult? Or will she just see it as a welcomed "improvement"?

As for me, I think I am quite often attracted to women that kind of look like female versions of myself. Their hair is usually darker than mine though. hmmm

Isn't it weird if this really is a common phenomenon? I mean, wouldn't it make more sense if we - especially us heterosexuals - went for the exact opposite instead, since mixing of different genes makes for a stronger offspring and opposites attract and all that?

I go for someone of a tall, strong and slim sort of build usually, which is probably similar to me, although I am not really tall myself, just average.

Hell yeah. I would totally do me. I mean, I'm freaking JT. I would brag about it too. I would go around showing people my picture and I would be like, "Yeah, I nailed that." Then, of course, I would eventually grow bored with myself and have to like break up with myself and that would be all over the tabloids, you know like "JT breaks JT's Heart" and I would have to write some songs about it and stuff.

I'm attracted to various types of men physically but their personalities and dispositions are usually the same as mine.

I'm attracted to similar personality types more than similar physical characteristics.

But I'm slim, and have long hair, but I'm not hairy, and I like women that are that way too smile that's not very specific, though

Also, if I had to be with a man I'd be most comfortable with me.

Ok I am tanned complected (like Salma Hayek, Eva Mendez, JLo) because I am Latin with dark brown almost black hair, and I have not gone for a male version of my self. The guys Ive' gone out with recently are either tall, blond, blue/green eyed or Asian. So am I an exception?
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

I am not attracted to people who look like me. What catches my eye are usually men who are tall, dark and have light colored eyes, something like Alex Rodriguez from the Yankees love2

Not really - all the guys I like look nothing like me. As far as I'm aware. hmmm Well - some do, some don't.

There was this one guy I, er, spent an evening with, though, and he dropped me off at my house the next day. My nosey housemates were peeking through the windows lol and when I came through the door they were all 'He looks exactly like you!' which I found a little weird. But, in general, not particularly.

Definately same personalities. I've never been attracted to someone who looks like me. If I were attractive, I guess it would be a different story.

No not entirely. Although a best friend of mine use to call me Prince... hmm I find him beautifully attractive. But a guy the same physical size to me is not really what I wish for. I do like dark hair, have dated several different ethnics. I was raised in a Hispanic household... but I would almost say, I am done with the Hispanic ways. My husband was Hispanic (a fantastic person), but his mother... well, that is another story. lol I am eliminating the Hispanic culture concerning my next potential relationship. There are some other findings I have realized... but I will stop here.

I think I am looking for a hippy next, long hair would be nice (washed daily) lol... and exceptionally clean... one who lives to be outdoors. big grin

...

lol

An oxymoron is a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms. smile

I actually just realized that there is such a thing as a clean long-haired hippie on the org though. His name is NDRU. razz
