Ottawa is awesome. Super green and clean, low crime, fab restaurants, cool people, big but not too big.

I've lived all over Canada and I am very happy to be settled here. mr.green

Aww you caught me before I edited.

I think Ottawa is okay, just am very fond of TO. I don't know if you ever knew but I have tons of relatives all over Canada and lived there for a while myself.
I'm not kidding about the Canadians moving to Buffalo though.

I know you're not kidding about Canadians moving south. I know a few people that have done it. It's for the money and they always move back to Canada after a while.

Well I was going to say something nice but now I won't.
Your team may have won the division but Toronto is still the best city in Ontario and there's a reason so many Canadians are moving to Buffalo.

Hahaha! You changed it.

Toronto is absolutely nothing like Ottawa. I'm actually not a fan of Toronto. Ok to visit, but I certainly have no desire to live there. lol

Canadians moving to Buffalo? There is one reason Canadians move to the states...American companies offer Canadians big bucks to come work from them.

Maybe but many of these Canadians own their own business ventures. There are many, many reasons people move to the States.

Hells no they don't all move back, they move to Florida.
I love visiting Canada but I don't ever want to live there again.

And it's not all for money, sometimes it's for love. wink

Hey! The majority of Florida transplants only live there in the winter, they come back here in the summer.

Very true, I'm sure it's sometimes for love...but in most cases Canadians move to the states because they get paid better.

There is a reason Americans want Canadians to come work for them. We're just that awesome. biggrin

Anyway, bottom line is Ottawa kicked Buffalo's ass. wink

Well okay, most of the Canadians I know are pretty awesome.
And I knew when Buffalo won the President's Cup they weren't going to make it to the finals. The top seeded team almost never wins the Stanley Cup.

Besides, you hate hockey. biggrin

lol

I know, I really do but I must admit it is kinda cool to see people here so excited. The Sens always come out strong and then fuck up in the play off. It's their first time in the final round and the spirit here is kinda nice.

Oh, and I just remembered that Ottawa was named the best city in Canada to live this year. Not too bad. woot!

I know, The Sens and the Sabres are very much alike that way.
I hope they do win the Cup, they are overdue. biggrin

Red Wings host Ducks in Game Five of Western Conference finals

May 20, 2007

The Anaheim Ducks welcome back Norris Trophy finalist Chris Pronger when they face the Detroit Red Wings in Game Five of the Western Conference finals on Sunday.

The top-seeded Red Wings regained the home-ice advantage with a 5-0 victory at Anaheim in Game Three, but the Ducks bounced back with a 5-3 victory on Thursday to even the series at two games apiece.

The Ducks overcame the loss of Pronger, who was suspended for Game Four after delivering a blow to the head of Detroit's Tomas Holmstrom.

But Ric Jackman helped the Ducks offset the loss of one of the NHL's premier defenseman by scoring a power-play goal and Ryan Getzlaf snapped a tie with the extra skater early in the third period.

Anaheim was 0-for-16 with the man advantage in the first three games of the series before going 2-for-5 on Thursday.

"That's what the playoffs are about," said Ducks defenseman Scott Niedermayer, who also is a finalist for the Norris Trophy. "You have to keep fighting every step of the way and even with Chris back we're going to have to do the same in Detroit."

The Ducks, who entered the series with the league's best penalty-killing unit during the playoffs, have allowed the Red Wings to score seven times on 26 power-play chances.

Detroit's Daniel Cleary had two goals and an assist Thursday for his second consecutive multi-point performance. He has two tallies and four assists in the series and has a career-high 11 points this postseason.

Game Six is Tuesday night at Anaheim.

The winner will face the Ottawa Senators in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Daniel Alfredsson scored at 9:32 of overtime, lifting the Senators to a 3-2 victory over the Presidents' Trophy-winning Buffalo Sabres on Saturday and securing a berth in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in their 15-season existence.

The original Ottawa Senators won their seventh championship in 1927, the first year the NHL assumed control of the Stanley Cup playoffs. The capital city of Canada has not hoisted the trophy since, as the original Senators moved to St. Louis following the 1933-34 campaign.

Since entering the league as an expansion team in 1992, the modern Senators have experienced mostly heartache in the postseason, advancing past the conference semifinals on just one occasion prior to this year. But thanks to its captain, Ottawa is just four victories away from capturing its first Cup and becoming the first Canadian club to raise the trophy since the 1993 Montreal Canadiens.

Wings should have taken game five. They were overpowering the Anaheim Ducks the entire game, except for the last minute of the game when the Ducks tied it with a fluke shot.

Andreas Lilja was the hero, besides Dominik Hasek, for the Red Wings as well as the goat. He gave Motown the lead in the second, and it was all the Wings needed.

Then Lilja tried to pass in front of Hasek, IN FRONT OF THE NET, and flubbed a pass. Lilja should have kept the puck nd shot it into centre ice, but no.

Still hoping this goes to a game seven. Let's have one more at The Joe, winner take all to play for Lord Stanley.
