the Pat syndrome or...Madame Butterfly?

okay I get this new job. ladeeda...

I have a co-worker named Jesse.

I thought it unusual for this Jesse to be working in the Women's Building but Jesse is a very liberal person and hey this is San Francisco.

This is San Francisco. eek

So I have to do payroll and rifle through W-4's and personal documents. And I come upon a document that Jesse's real name is Jessica.

eek How could I have not known?

don't worry Heartbeat, one time I was walking down the street and I saw this hot ass dude coming my way and I got a full boner and it almost fell off when he got closer and I realized it was a hardcore bulldyke falloff Even the pros can get confused biggrin

I was trying to backtrack to remember if I had used any gender-defined pronouns in my discussions with the board of directors. boxed I thought I was pro. bawl I mean, it's one thing to mistake someone on the street, but I've spent hours working side by side with this person.

All right, now I know why I was confused -- Jesse has facial hair! eek And I notice, even the supervisors avoid using gender-specific pronouns. lol But I may go out on a limb one day and use the he pronoun, because this is English and we don't have neutral pronouns and if you deliberately change your name from Jessica to Jesse than that, to me, makes you a he.

I hope s/he is not an orger. boxed
