In-Flight Friskiness Gets California Man Convicted

WILMINGTON, N.C. A California man has been convicted of a crime for getting a little too frisky with his girlfriend and threatening flight attendants when they told him to stop.

Prosecutors say Carl William Persing and his girlfriend were embracing, kissing and acting in a way that made other passengers uncomfortable during a flight from Los Angeles to North Carolina last fall.

They say Persing twice threatened a flight attendant who told the couple to stop and refused to serve them alcohol.

The FBI met the couple when the plane landed.

Today, Persing was convicted of interfering with a flight crew after a three-day trial. Charges against the girlfriend were dropped this week.
