Please say a prayer for me...UPDATE Now I hate doing this to you guys but could you please remember to keep me in your prayers.
This weekend I received a certified letter from my school district... and as it seems so did many other teachers in the city where I teach. Because of budget issues, reorganization of Special Education (Thank you No Child Left Behind!), and messy contract disputes I might be given a pink slip. Right now that's all the info the union can give us. The Board starts talks about who is staying and who is going tomorrow, which happens to be my birthday... yay for me, but we probably will not hear anything any time soon. The Board of Ed has to let us know by May 15 if we have a job next year or not. A month is a long time to have your stomach in knots. I need my job, I know every one does, but I;ve not been in a good place emotionally the last couple of years and I just don't know how I would handle the stress of finding another place to work nor the stress of finding a way to pay my bills. So please say a little prayer,send positive vibes my way, that I am not one of the teachers who gets let go, ... My head's on the block and it's pretty darn scary. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |
