Its one of those programmes that make me feel like I am wasting valuable seconds of my life when watching it Its just so boooooring, all the boring old people in the boring little town where nothing ever happens; it spoke to everything I felt after having to come in from playing on a Sunday evening, and get ready for school the next day, and everyone around me in the little villiage with their nondescript quiet little lives! I wanted to watch glamourous American tv, where people did exciting things, and the sun always shone! Thats the life I want to identify with! I agree with ALL of this. You said it perfectly. I hate that programme. Isn't it the world's longest running sitcom or something? Utter shite. How many times can 3 old men wander the streets, be chased out of shops by a woman wearing wrinkly stockings and brandishing a broom or roll down a mountain in some contraption made out of a bathtub??? As soon as I hear the theme tune, I have to turn it OFF! Good choice. I totally remember the one with the bathtub! Or did that just happen every week? It IS utter shite isnt it?! I remember watching it for years, only cause someone else was in charge of the tv and there was nothing on But I do recall a time not so long ago, when it "appeared" on the screen in my mothers house - I couldnt go on! I HAD to say "oh no, we are NOT watching this!" Rock n roll baby

Who was really old enough to be our mothers, like Dorien off Birds of a Feather ( Whole new topic right there!) And the "young couple" who were content to end up exactly like their parents, and stay in with their tea and lace bloody tablecloths THEY'RE why i hate those programmes, cause its amazing just how many people do end up like that! nondescript, I say Rock n roll baby

i know lots of people hate "one foot in the grave" and at first i thought it was an uber lame show but then i watched it a few times during holiday season and it was very funny. i love how grumpy victor is. his hatred for 90% of the world reminds me so much of myself, lol. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Funnier than Last of the Summer Wine, but in the same camp for me I think it was just too boring, and on a Sunday night... Rock n roll baby

Me too. I used to think it was something bored families would watch but I caught a few episodes and I was howling! Someone used to call me 'Victor' in work. I'm not kidding.

There was some programme called ´Beauty and the Beast´ starring Linda Hamilton from the Terminator movies. It used to be on Friday nights after ´Family Fortunes´ which I love. Anyway, it was about her and some guy who looked like a lion who lived in the New York underground. God knows what it was all about. A love that dare not speak its name I think. There's Joy In Expatriation.
