I want to get a dog.
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

grady was in "kitty freak out" mode yesterday and was running from one side of the apartment to the other, howling and then stopping abruptly with his eyes wide open and his ears back in "attack mode".

i just got a DVD in the mail from netflix called "feline frolix" which is an hour of, well, basically kittie porn - images of birds and cat toys and stuff that is supposed to captivate cats - so i thought it would be a good idea to pick my cat up and hold his face to the tv and say "LOOK AT THE LITTLE BIRDIES!"

when i did this, grady smacked me on top of my head and then ran howling into the closet. oops.

it must have been a weird night for him.

I've read that moving can stress cats out, so that could be why they're acting up.

She is the sweetest girl kitty in the world. She hardly misbehaves and once when she did I spoke sternly to her and she actually shuttered sad I felt so bad! lol

Meanwhile, her brother is a monster. lol

A relative once had this stray cat living in her garage. So she would feed it and eventually it had a litter. The cat would not come in the house though she tried to entice her.

So she was in the garage nursing the kittens and everything was fine.

Turns out most of the litter died and the cat got into a major depression, total change of attitude and eating habits.

People who think animals cant feel are emotionally deprived and should be starved.

My cat does too. In fact, he'll sit right in front of the TV, and if something is moving on the screen, he will stand up on his back legs and paw at it. lol Cracks me up. lol

sad How sad. Cats definitely mourn for the loss of their kittens or for a companion cat or dog when it's no longer around. Poor kitty.

nod I'll never forget when I had to take my one cat to the vet to be euthanized, he had cancer and was at the end of his life. I set the carrier with him in it down on the floor. The other cat saw him in the carrier and they touched noses and sniffed each other. When I got back from the vet's, I put the empty carrier down on the floor. The surviving cat came over and looked into the carrier. He was looking for his brother. It was like he was saying, "Hey, where did he go?" It was one of the saddest things I've ever witnessed in my life. sad

Oh gosh... cry

I've thought about how to handle that because I've heard those stories before (I know it sounds weird) but, I wonder if taking the surviving animal to the vets office with you to let them sniff the animal who has been put to sleep would help them understand what's happened.

Yeah, when we had to have one of our cats euthanized, the other wandered around the house crying and looking for him for days. It was so incredibly sad.
