once in carver county i drove past a HUGE snapping turtle trying to cross the road. several cars besides mine stopped, and between three of us we managed to haul that poor baby off the middle of the road into a drainage ditch. but he/she was pissed off, and had a strike/bite that looked pretty deadly. luckily, no one got close enough to lose a finger or anything.
