Oh when it all, it all falls down
I'm telling you all when it all falls down. Start over and pick up the pieces.

Ok, that's mine too. I have never gotten over this person.

22 years ago, my sister was pregnant, had severe toxemia, an emergency C-section, only to deliver a baby girl with severe congenital malformations which was placed on life support. Those infants don't survive more than 2 months. My sister then developed renal failure, congestive heart failure and was in an ICU post C-section unable to be involved or make decisions on her baby. My brother-in-law decided to take the baby off the respirator at the recommendation of the physicians. He was too upset to handle being there and left the hospital, so I stayed and held and rocked the baby after the endo- tracheal tube was removed (this was a job for family, not hospital personel. No other family members could handle it, either)
My brother-in-law changed his mind, turned his car around, and got back in time to hold her until her heart stopped. My sister recovered, and went on to have a healthy girl three years later. [Edited 5/1/07 17:32pm]
