How in the heck am I going to ............. get up tomorrow morning. I've been used to going to sleep at 4am and waking up at around 9am.
I'm going dancing too. After THAT workout, I really wont be able to sleep. I start work tomorrow. Thank God!!!!! Five hours of sleep per night eh? Is that enough for you?

I've said before that all I need is 5 hours but you know what? It probably isn't enough since I crash at around 3pm. My problem is that after 5 hours my back starts hurting. It took me forever to get used to getting up at 4:30 am. I don't know if I could ever get used to that. It does feel great to be up early though, mentally at least. Maybe they want you there early because they want you to supervise the others that are on the early shift. That would suck if that was the case. I guess if you were allowed to start the day later then you would end it later too. Do you think you would miss those free afternoons? .

I don't have direct reports but in a sense I do supervise a portion of what other people do, but that hasn't changed. I do like getting out early. But an hour would make a world of difference, I think. It's sad when I can't even go out to dinner on a weeknight cause I have to be home by 9pm at the very, very latest. |

Yeah, it puts you out of synch with the rest of the world. It's amazing how a few hours difference in scheduling can take a huge bite out of a person's social life. The modern labour model isn't as flexible as those commercials showing people on the beach doing their work on a laptop would like us to think.
