See, that's my problem. I have oily skin, and nail polish starts to chip off by the next day, ALWAYS. So I don't even bother a lot of the time. Part of why I mostly wear flesh-tones when I wear it is so that I can stand the chipping for a few days, but even then, it bugs me.

So, if anybody has any great anti-chip strategies, share. smile

My polish would start chipping after about 3 days, but even that seems like a waste to me. You sit up trying to do the shit perfectly, letting it dry is ALWAYS a bitch, then it's jacked THREE days later - wtf?? It's just too much effort for too little "glory".

I've been painting my nails since I was old enough to hold and use a nail polish brush and my mother used to do my nails for me before I could do it myself if I requested it. lol I don't even feel it anymore...falloff

hmmm Probably a bad sign for me. giggle

that must be my problem too. i don't know why, but no matter WHAT i do paint on my fingernails starts chipping the next day. but paint on my toenails can stay for weeks!! i ALWAYS have my toes painted, usually red, or a bright pink, or a deep purple/maroon/burgundy shade. i haven't had a chance to paint them lately so the paint is chipping a bit and i'm very ashamed of that. boxed but i'm going to go to sleep right now so it will have to wait til tomorrow again. confused

Oh yeah, same. My toenails stay nice for a long time, and I almost always have them painted. Often intense colors, thought right now they're pale pink too.

Using a base coat and top coat helps quite a bit.

I haven't polished my nails in years and it was something I use to love to do but it got to be too much work in up keep for me. The polish chipping after a day or two, breaking a nail and the thing that pissed me off the most was after carefully polishing my nails... a smudge. mad so I go natural or maybe a clear top coat.

Do you paint your fingernails or toenails? Yes, both
What kind do you use? usually OPI
What's your favorite colors? Depends on my moods

I used to have silk tips, but I took those off because I'm just not patient enough to get them filled every two to three weeks. They've almost grown out, and I just trim them every few days and use a clear polish.

My toes are in deep need of a pedicure, but I trimmed the nails painted them red yesterday.

OPI is always good, but I use a lot of Revlon polish too.

I do. Maybe I'm not using the right one. Though I've tried several over the years. pout

Speaking of nail polish. I recently stumbled upon this Orly nail polish ad and I was totally appalled! They have a 6 pack collection with such nail laquers as 'take him to the cleaners', 'it's not me it's you', 'one-night stand'. I can't say I'm surprised what with the constant stripping of value done to anything sacred in this consumer entrenched nation.

My "drool" paints my toe nails all the time. I havent a clue what brand, he orders them and peels the labels off or he makes his own polish.
I like to paint my finger nails but I kinda gave up on it since I cant have it on at work.

I discovered yesterday painting your nails with Krazy Glue gives the same look as if you had just spent hours buffing them. It looks GREAT. I'm srsly.
