When I lived in Anchorage it was Safeway and the base commissary.

When I lived in Detroit, and now in Toledo, it's Kroger's.

When I lived in Biloxi last year is was Winn-Dixie

I looooove Super Target, even if I didn't have my discount. A lot of the MorningStar Farms and veggie products are $2-3 cheaper than my normal gorcery store.

I love working for Target, but it does get a little cult-like. lol

i never walk out of target without dropping at least $100-200, and i usually purchase some form of huge furniture that i didn't plan on getting when i walked in. it's scary, that place.

My friends and I used to play the Target game where a bunch of us would go together, spend, like, 2 hours there going down each and every aisle and end-cap and we'd see who spent the least amount of money. I almost never won. redface

Now I'm there about once a week or so, so I spend less, but I'm there more often.

I'm very lucky to live within short walking distance of a FABULOUS co-op, Madison Market.

And a block up from that is Trader Joes. Don't actually go very often, but it is great.

I also like PCC and Metropolitan Market. I used to live near both. MM is super swanky and fun and cool and they have the BEST flower selection. But their prices aren't stellar.

i had my first super walmart experience in the states last year. i couldn't believe it. huuuuge! omg

i'm trying to do more walking trips to my local store... extra foods. the rest i usually get from it's bigbox cousin, superstore (same as bev) and i think that company is the same one that runs loblaws so essentially they dominate the market.

occasionally i will go to coscto, sobey's or safeway for a few things (lightly salted ripple chips drool ) or grab the odd thing from walmart.

I used to like target.
Then I bought up a bunch of Micheal Graves stuff and found it all to be a bunch of poorly crafted garbage.

I still buy my household cleaning supplies from there.
Lavander method dish soap and hand soap. paper towels, etc.
They dont carry my brand of laundry soap though.

i'm still not 100% with Super Target. groceries at Target kinda skeeves me. It's like getting syrup on my eggs. They just shouldn't mix.

But classic Target.... cloud9

it's been my favorite since i was a kid. i'd go about every other week with my mom. i'd run straight to the toy department -- either looking at matchbox cars or Star Wars figures. then I'd wander around looking for my mom to show her what i wanted. and i wouldn't find her. then i'd start crying, go to customer service and say, "i can't find my mommy." and then they'd make an announcement. "We have a lost little boy with a blue shirt, black hair and brown eyes..."

I'm not that crazy about Target, I don't see what the big appeal is. To me their stuff is just as overpriced as all the others.

I used to go to the main one right by my house. It's a Chain store. Always crowded, over priced, not great quality etc.

Until...

A local gracery store Big Apple opened back up. Never a line. Always friendly. Great Baggers. Reasonably priced on most things. I LOVE THIS STORE! Not too big, not too small. Decent produce (not always best quality, but is priced accordingly), kitchen wares (HUGE selection..if you need a pot or a pan they have it), plants, ethnic foods, decent variety on most things. Really there is not much I can't get there like meat or a certain brand I am looking for. But really, I am in and out and it normally costs way way less than the Big Store.

I augment my shopping there with Trader Joes and all is good. I love Trader Joes too.

Have you been to one, though?

It weirded me out at first too, but once you see one and Target's brand stuff, I think you'd change your mind.

Most Publix don't look like that.

IT's a Florida based company so I'm assuming this is somewhere in Orlando or Miami.
