the whole "buying carbon credits" thing to offset plane travel has not been big here. on one hand it's a lovely notion to plant more trees and make things greener. on the other i think it's a load of shite... something used to make you feel guilty about flying in order to make money. perhaps i'm wrong and it's really very cost effective. as long as we are not john travolta and flying a passanger jet for our own personal use, i think we are doing the best we can. now... if red thought the mellow yellow was gross i wonder what she would think of my mother using a "suds saver" when she washes clothes? you save the soapy water from the first load for your second load of clothes.

GOOD: 1. Used cruelty free shampoo & conditioner 2. Used aerosol free hair gel and hair spray 3. air dried a blanket 4. Have florescent lighbulbs installed throughout the house BAD: 1. Am an American 2. Used the washer for my blanket (but the washer is very high energy and water efficient--it only uses just enough water to wash the clothes an no more). 3. Used the computer 4. Used my PDA 5. used my cellphone 6. Drove my car 7. shit, the list doesn't end.

For real?? No way! That's like washing all your kids in the same bathwater All kids in same bath, then bath water into a tank for the garden in the summer. Agree in principal, and play my part. But if George W makes anywhere close to the same fucking effort politically as we are personally, it will make any of our contributions insignificant. Which they lergely are anyway. And all this if you actually agree that human CO2 causes global warming. Nice to reflect on it in this way though. Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard!

That's like washing all your kids in the same bathwater yes well... we had to watch every drop of water we used. and keep in mind she grew up in a time when the whole family used the same bathwater lol. but seriously... i kind of want to set it up here too. i think i put too many clothes in the washer at once in the name of efficency and it's not like my clothes are majorly dirty. you aren't sending out as much soap down the drain and yet the clothes are agitated again in fresh rinse water. it's not a bad system.

Well I don't put as much soap in the machine and I use the eko washing program. And I hope our government is doing the purifying of our water before it enters nature, maybe I'm a little naive in that. [Edited 4/24/07 13:05pm]

i attended San Diego's Earth Day celebration which is the 3rd largest outdoor event in the city behind St Patty's day and SD Pride with my Sisters.
had a lot of fun. though we ran into the people crazy Christians that protest Pride and AIDS Walk calling for an end to the Homosexual Agenda. Apprently HomoHQ has devisied Earth Day and global warming as a way to brain wash people. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

I don't really do all the recycling because I believe in the global warming thing though, I believe we should all be taking care of our enviroment/earth. It is precious and we need to be consience of that every single minute of our day.

too bad it's not still winter you could turn the thermostat down a couple degrees from all your hanky panky Well, if it was still winter, we'd just skip the walk on the lake and stay in bed for more sex

You can be assured that the bag that was used to carry our food during the walk was kept for later recycling. Same with the ticket for the street car.
