The problem is, the CGI hasen't evolved since the first movie, Spidey dosen't look any better or more realistic since the first movie.
They are using the same CGI models and graphics since the first movie, because it costs less. "Waiting to be banned"

I'm also super stoked to see the Silver Surfer on the big screen, I could care less about the movie or plot, I just want to see him get his power cosmic on! You might NOT be happy about Galactic, whatever that is. Nerds all over AICN were pissed. [Edited 4/22/07 20:18pm]

from what i remember from the animation series, the black suit
is extra terrestrial and makes spiderman become sorta evil. so i was just wondering why they need so many vilains in this flick. it would be really almost a movie's worth just to see spiderman battle this other side of himself. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

i wish they'd rock an old skool look for one of the spidey movies. keep the storyline and continuity going, but just give the look of the film a more retro/60s look - make his costume less hypertech looking, have villains that don't look like something out of power rangers, and take a cue from the classic spidey comics while actually setting it in the current day. just for one movie. maybe if raimi steps off, they'll go with a different look for the next one?

i under stand that sam.toby, and Kirsten have all said they are not interested in a 4th. Kirsten Dunst had the nerve to say that if there was a 4th with out the original cast it would flop! http://www.reuters.com/ar...7120070416 I disagree....hell Jake Gyllenhaal is a natural for Perer Parker and any hot young actress could take over as MJ. like Scarlett Johansson... I think Jake Gyllenhaal would be good as Peter Parker/Spidey. Rumor was that he was the alternate choice for 2 due to Maguire's health problems.

I see them as very different, although I like both. Maguire does the nerdy stuff really well, but Peter Parker didn't stay that way forever in the comics.

I disagree. Raimi is the main reason why Spidey is the best superhero movie franchise around. If you don't have people who love & respect comics working on these films, it's a disaster. Look what happened to Batman with Schumacher and X-Men 3.

Look what happened to Batman with Schumacher and X-Men 3. i agree that raimi helped make the spidey movies a success and that his knowledge of the comic books was key to the success. but spidey's been around since the 60s. he's more than a household name. the success of this character is not wholly dependent on sam raimi, and to think otherwise would be kind of silly. get another director in who knows his/her stuff with the comic mythology and i'm sure it could easily be just as successful.

Marvel's problem is they haven't been doing that lately.

Marvel's problem is they haven't been doing that lately. i think marvel's problem is also that the spidey movie franchise has become so high profile, they can't afford NOT to do that if they keep on without raimi and co. - if they take spidey down the road of FF, daredevil, ghost rider, etc., then yeah. he's screwed.

Of course. Spider-man is Marvel's flagship character. He's to Marvel what Supes is to DC. If Marvel screws up the Spidey franchise with a sub-par film, there'll be a cry like you wouldn't believe. Some fans are still ticked off over the organic web shooters.
