i think this guy is building himself quite an impressive filmography so far.

he just always pick up the right thing, even his BMW mini-films were astounding.

Jude Law is another contender.

I like him. He's one of those actors that has a sympathetic aura about him, kind of like Luke Wilson only tougher.

I saw Children of Men recently and was impressed by it on many levels. The depiction of anarchy felt very believable, and it was a fantastic directorial effort (he had so much going on to keep track of!).

Clive is very impressive to me, too. He can play calculated in one film, empathetic in the next. I thought he was really good in "Children of Men" and "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead." I also thought he was probably the best of the four in "Closer," though I must admit I thought all four leads did well.

Just because he doesn't emote as much as some actors doesn't make him seem cold in my opinion. He's a subtle actor and the sympathetic aura is generated by him, the real person, rather than the character he plays. Good actors know that it's usually better to use their real selves as a foundation to build the role on as opposed to trying to erase themselves and build it up from scratch. You need something real in there to deliver a believable performance and a three-dimensional personality.

I discovered him when he was in the TV series Second Sight, so that was around the same time I think.

He's the type of actor who I can respect on and off of the screen.

The first thing I saw him in was the movie version of the play BENT. He was absolutely amazing in it. He tore my heart out in that movie.
