You have to end all your sentences with "che" and talk with an Italian flair.
...and when you go to a Bar-B-Q joint, don't expect gigantic portions of meat. QUALITY, not quantity. So I've been told. I would love to go there one day! By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I've wanted to tour Argentina from the north all the way down to the southern tip for some time. What locations are you going to? No More Haters on the Internet.

things are tough over there economically, watch your back in Buenos Aires and keep your valuables out of sight, mugging and pickpocketing are rife, it has become necessity for some to form gangs and do it just to survive
My in-laws (who are from there) are there right now and last time we spoke they said they don't feel safe there any more. JD, do whatever you can to blend in and no flashy clothes or accessories - I've seen how they work, one guy will tip off another guy and while you are suddenly wiping mustard (that came from nowhere) off your jacket, your bag is GONE. Other than that, the people are the nicest on the planet, nowhere else have I felt such love and acceptance

They loved YOU and your video camera Sorry for the joke but I hear things are slowly getting better ( Iguazú wrecked it early in the trip, so they would have stolen a non-working camera) I certainly hope so some people lost 2/3 of all their savings back when they unlinked the peso from the US$ lots of Leo's family amongst them.

Ive been to a few places with notorious reputations and I find it no worse than to being in some dodgy place in England. I have been in Argentina for a few hours now and the people are just as friendly as anywhere else Ive been. Dangerously there is a lovely little bar just next to where Im staying! If you like football, catch a game. I saw 2 matches there - River Plate and Boca Jrs both at home. The latter was intense.
Just watch your back there. I felt pretty safe in Argentina except for the area around La Boca. Still worth seeing though for the painted houses but it a bit touristy.

I here to be a bit careful around La Boca but after travelling around the world Im quite clued up. You can never be too careful though and I do apprciate both yours and ZombieKitten`s concern. For mainly British Orers, dont you think Lionel Messi (pictured) looks like Sue from the film `Rita, Sue and Bob Too`?! There's Joy In Expatriation.

Moderator | If you look at the sun in the flag and scroll up and down a little real fast...the sun's rays move like arms, it's kinda creepy.
Well, anyway....Hope you have a great time Jd! In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |
