Are u concerned about global warming?

I saw Al Gore's "An inconvenient truth" yesterday.
This is pretty serious stuff. Our future on planet earth is at stake.
Any thoughts on this subject?

No, I'm not concerned about it in the least.

An Inconvenient Truth is a very neat little piece of propoganda -- but that's all it is.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Listen, we're gonna kill ourselves off this planet sooner or later anyway, it's all relative, you know?

i have mixed emotions about it ... altho i do think it is a good thing lowering our emissions, etc ... i think there is little that would do ... i remember reading one time how only ONE space shuttle launch creates so much polution ... etc ...

i also do believe that it could just be climate shifting ... and/or we are in a phase where for several thousand years it will get warmer ... then it will shift back again ...

I just feel like we should be more aware of the effects we have on this planet. I guess I should not care- it is not like I have kids so I may not ever have grand kids.
For some reason I am still concerned about global warming for the ppl in the future that might really be effected by it.

I am concerned too. We totally messed it up. It reminds me of Micheal Jackson's Earth Song: "What have we done to the world? Look what we've done".

At the end of 'An inconvenience truth' there are things listed what we can do to stop global warming. I just hope it's not too late.

Thanks Spooky for sharing your concern. I hope I am not the American concerned. Well I know I am not but some days it feels like it.

I feel like what is the point sad Australians make such an effort, we have so many restrictions, and then you have places like Buenos Aires (which is probably like a thousand cities in China) with no EPA to speak of, trucks spewing forth black smoke, people burning their trash, industry waste into the nearest river etc.

sigh

I am very concerned about climate change. The truth is staring us in the face. Climate change is happening in the UK; it is an issue for our generation as well as future generations; and those who deny it are the flat-earthers of the 21st century

No, global warming is a natural occurrence. This is man made hysteria, just like peak oil. They want you to think their is a shortage of resources, so the globalist can install a global tax. Gore is a globalist and Big Oil, he's a phony.

The dire global warming predictions are made using the same computer models that can't accurately predict the weather three days from now. Do you really think they're reliable 50 years out?

Is the earth warming? Yes. Do we know why? No. Are humans responsible? Maybe -- for part of it. But rising carbon dioxide emissions (which everyone is blaming for global warming) would actually have the opposite effect.

Incidentally, the planet-wide temperature is rising on Mars, too. (Rising temperatures have also been noted on some of the moons of Jupiter.) That indicates that the warming may actually be due to increased solar activity (unless, of course, there are a bunch of Martians driving around in SUVs with cloaking devices).

I think Global Warming is much bigger than the likes of Gore. That is giving ppl like him way too much credit.

Yes, and in protest I'm not doing my paperwork!

It's truly frightening, and something I don't really want to think about. But it's nice to know just changing our lightbulbs can make a real difference.

There's a lot of little things we all can do to make a difference but many ppl are not concern about it.

That's why I don't want to think about it. I try to do what I can, but it's too disturbing to think of what billions of others aren't doing.

It's true that we don't know everything. The issue for me is the more general one of pollution. And it's prety hard to deny the negatives of spewing crap into the air/water/ground/ocean.

For me I guess it is about not leaving a huge footprint behind when I leave this earth.
I would like to leave it in better condition than when I arrived here. I want to leave things like National Parks beautiful so other generations get to enjoy them as I have.

Right, and taking into account that we live off of nature--air, water, vegetables & animals--it just seems right to keep it clean, even if you don't care about looking at it.

Of course I am concerned.

I can't imagine having the attitude that it's all going to hell anyway, so who cares.

I agree. I guess we all look at things differently. I just want to make sure we have nature around for generations to come.
we could NOT survive without mother earth/mother nature.
I guess every one is just banking on artificial survival shrug
