I did when I was around 14. I alway used to tell my mom 'I'm hungry' and her response would always be 'You don't know what it's like to be hungry, so stop moaning'.
So one day I asked her if I could try to find out what it was like to be hungry.
She asked our doctor if it was save for me to try and he told her I could try as long as it didn't last more than 3 days and I had at least 2 liters of water each day.
So I tried. Two and a half days I didn't eat. First I felt hungry the way I was used to. Than after about a day that feeling was gone and I started to get emotional but not realy hungry any longer. At the end of the second day even the shaky feeling was gone, I felt like I could do without food forever, but mentaly I was becoming apart. It was a very weird experience, but a lot easier than I would expect.
Of course I don't know what it's like after more than 2-3 days, but I don't intend to find out

My fast ended last night at seven and it was alot easier than I had expected. I could not imagine how those kids in Africa feel, but I met alot of people from around the US who are doing alot to make a difference in their lives!

I've fasted through Ramadan (even though I'm not Muslim, my father is so I do it not to get in trouble) and during Lent. The best advice I can give you is to keep yourself busy and don't think abt food. Think abt the others who have less than you and for whom fasting is everyday life.
