I'm kinda, okay totally scared about these interviews Hey everyone....I know this is random but I am stressin a bit. Tomorrow and sunday I have two big interviews for pastry positions at two great resturants. I have never had a formal pastry interview before and I'm totally scared I'm going to blow it or they will ask me a question and I'll have no idea what they're talking about. At my last pastry jobs I wasn't required to prove myself because they knew my work and who I was but now I'm dealing with seasoned chefs in a new place who know their shit!!!! I'm going to make a fool of myself I can just feel it and I need a pastry job!!!! I do cakes ALL of the time and want some pastry to mix it up.....
I always tell myself that as long as I have my confident face on and my interview skills together than I'll be okay but this time I know it'll take more. If they ask me to make a pineapple tartar with sabayon or a saffron panna cotta It's all over for me! sorry guys... I just needed to get that out....please don't feel you need to respond | |

Just do your best and try and relax. Sounds dumb and basic. But relaxing and being positive will surely help. | |

Absolute co-sign to that. I know this is easier said than done but no point stressing about it; it'll only make things more difficult, Just do your best, be positive and get in there. And it's always good experience. Good Luck!! Let us know how you get on. | |

Always stay positive, keep in mind WHY you want that job, and focus on your strengths, not your weak points.
Picture yourself as already being employed there, keep that image in mind before you go to the interview. Smile and relax. YOU REALLY WANT TO MAKE PASTRY, AND YOU´RE WILLING TO LEARN ABOUT PASTRY ! Remember that you're interviewing them too. Try to think of a couple questions for them. And think of some powerful positive words to use about yourself, when they ask what's one of your weaknesses tell them one of your strong points, like " I'm a stickler for details", or, "I'm a perfectionist". Something like that. "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss
