People always shit themselves when I tell them I haven't seen any of the Godfather movies.

None of those assholes ever seem to have seen Kazaam, so fuck 'em.

I haven't seen any of the Godfather films either. I would have mentioned those, but it seems like the first post was asking for movies you own.

I've never seen the Godfather movies either!!!! Which is pretty funny since I'm a film buff and watching movies is part of my career. lol

Uncanny. smile

I'm not a film historian at all. There are several classics I've never seen like The Godfather films, Jaws, Alien, The Shining, Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, Citizen Kane, etc. I would like to see Citizen Kane. The others, eh.

define popular films. Well, I mainly watch old classic films so I prolly haven't seen many. Today, I only watch modern films if they are abt WW II or if its an historical drama, bio-pic, or if its a work of literatre (good literature) being adapted into a film.

So make a list of popular films and I'll tell u if I've seen it or not. The most recent film I've seen is The Lives of Others (German foreign film) which I STRONGLY recommend to eveyone, especially history buffs.

The Lives Of Others was excellent. I don't know if it deserved to beat Pan's Labyrinth for best foreign film at the Oscars though.

Princess Mononoke, Match Point, Amelie de Montmartre and Mystic River have been sitting on my shelf for ages now. I don't know why I never get around to watching them, because I'm sure they're all pretty good.

Princess Mononoke is excellent. I own that DVD also.

Match Point was pretty good. That was my first Woody Allen film since Sleeper. Casting Scarlett Johansson is the only way you'll get me to watch a Woody Allen movie these days.

Amelie was okay. I know many people that love that movie, but it was a little too fantastical and silly for me.

cool There seem to be others who liked Match Point too, so I'll put it at the top of my list along with Princess Mononoke.

Oh, and get your butt to the video store and rent The Godfather and Alien right now! Sheesh! smile

I haven't seen Titanic and probably never will. Reasons:

I hate Celine Dion and tha bloody song;

If I want to see dead Irish people, I'll drive on the sidewalk here in Dublin;

And because of luck. One of my grand-uncles had a ticket for the Titanic, couldn't go and sold it! I'll leave well enough alone.

The Lives of Others was indeed excellent. I believe it did deserve to win the Oscar for best foreign film- considering that this is the director's FIRST big film. It took six-seven years to make, because of the research to make the film. It won 7 Lola Awards (german oscars), 3 European Film Awards, and was definetly qualified to win Best Foreign Film at the Oscars.

well- i guess it depends on your taste in films i guess. I know the ppl that were in the theater with me were just as blown away by the film as I was. It was simply brearthtaking. So many people stayed behind and hung by the doors to just listen to the music as the end credits rolled and to watch the credits. And I got to meet several ppl and we all agreed that the film was awesome and that it deserved to win the Oscar for Best Foreign Film. I had waited months to see this film (since November of last year) and it was worth the wait.

The cinematography is awesome. It's a very visual film. And the storyline is very dark which I like of course.
