Back then I was scared as f*ck of clowns. So evil Jack and his überevil Joker grin in the first Batman movie really scared me. Shining too, Jack Nicholson is just scary.
Nowadays though, movies don't really scare me. At least not supernatural, alien monster stuff. Some mobies can be really disturbing , but not really scary . [Edited 4/20/07 13:04pm]

The Omen (the 70's classic, of course)
The Exorcist Night of the living dead (the classic, just disturbing) The shining The evil dead (some parts are hilarous, but overall the film is dark and scary) Scream (the first one)

The one movie I remember seeing that scared the crap out of me was "Invasion of the Body Snatchers." It was about people who were being duplicated, and their "twins" were growing in pods. The scariest part of the movie was when a character in the movie went out to the field where the pods were and took an axe and chopped up his "twin". It was gruesome because they showed it, because there was blood squirting out everywhere while the "twin's" face was being mutilated. My friend and I were actually screaming in the theater during this scene.
I do like scary movies, though, the scarier the better. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I remember that scaring the hell out of me too. I saw it when I was a young child. I didn't understand it and whoever was watching it with me had to explain things to me. I remember some things so clearly to this day and it still haunts me. Not something to show kids, and that was on prime time TV!

The ending is always total bullshit tripe. He spends almost 1000 pages on the story and copes out totally. I was obsessed with these films! I wanted to be The AntiChrist when I was a gothy teenager. As it turns out, i'm a traffic survey technician for an engineering firm. I won't be bringing on the apocalypse any time soon. [Edited 4/21/07 3:02am]

The original Night of the Living Dead(1968 black and white)....I was about 10 at the time. Scared the B'Jesus out of me. That was back in the day when you could pay once and sit in the theatre and watch it a second time. All the older neighborhood kids wanted to stay and watch it again. I sat there with my head under my jacket wanting to go home, but peeking out now and then. Nothing like Zombies.
The original Halloween. The later versions got hokier and hokier. Anytime a monster/boogeyman can't die or be killed then the movie loses its appeal to me. Silence of the Lambs Here's some good ones too: I Saw What You Did And I Know Who You Are, with John Ireland, Joan Crawford. Dead Ringer with Bette Davis [Edited 4/21/07 21:00pm]
