i hate that all the reports on this guy are coming out as "he was a loner, he didn't talk to people."

i'm a fucking loner and i don't talk unless i have something to say. it doesn't mean i'm a crazed gunman! it just means i grew up with an isolated, only-child upbringing and i'm independent. it's actually something that brings me comfort, not conflict! so on behalf of introverted loners everywhere, QUIT LOOKING AT US LIKE THAT!!! lol

i think EVERYONE has the potential to snap like this guy did. i think it's easier to dismissively villainize someone who HAS snapped than it is to ask ourselves how close we are to that kind of a meltdown.

With the expection of a few close friends, I was pretty much a loner too, but I highly doubt I'm gonna go on a shooting rampage too. Nervous Breakdown maybe tease , but definitely not a shooting rampage. I have no beef with anyone, not even people who used to say things to me in school.

This has nothing to do with what people find attractive or not attractive.

It's about teaching people to treat everyone with decency, respect and understanding. Not everyone has to like everyone, not everyone has to get along but if people would just treat others in this way I think a lot of people wouldn't feel so alone and rejected.

I'm over-simplifying here, I know...but really that's what I think it's all about.

People, in general, treat each other like shit. It makes me sick.

It does, though...people who are seen as "attractive" by society are treated better than those who are deemed not attractive. There are loads of scientific studies on it out there...and I've seen it here...do you think those photos of obese women and men that are posted here are treated with decency, respect and understanding? Most times, unfortunately, no. I see alot of this ---> barf and laughing. Why do you think that is?

It's the same with extremely skinny and anorexic pictures posted here. People have posted pics. of skeletons and laughed at jokes about these women. The same people who have a problem with the fat jokes. "That girl needs to eat a sandwich" is the same as "She needs to lay off the donuts." Not much of a difference, but this topic has been beaten to death. lol

It's sad that we are so wrapped up in our own lives that we don't take the time to question, help and heal those in need before its to late.

Yeah, they're actually trying to blame Grindhouse and the like on shit like this. I read his screenplay too.....and it actually wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. Cable TV has more violence than that screenplay. ex:Nip/Tuck. (Not trying to bad mouth Nip/Tuck, because I love the show so much redface, but that was the one cable tv show that really stood out)

I'm a big fan of The Shield, which is a very violent show. For instance, one of the main story lines was about a drug dealer who had very violent ways of dealing with his enemies....like placing tires over them and setting them on fire, or the whole columbian neck tie thing...in one episode, this dealer raped a 10 year old girl to make a point to someone who was thinking about ratting him out....

my point is that, once again, instead of dealing with bullying and marginalization of people until shit like this happens, its much easier to find some movie, some song, or some TV show to blame, because NO ONE raises little wolves that prey on "loner" types...or fat people...or ugly people....

Nah....there's no way ANYONE'S child would do that....besides, its only harmless fun...they don't really mean anything by it.....right?
