It seems fairly homophobic to me, but I haven't seen the trailer yet. I've just read about it online. shrug

Going by that it doesn't really look offensive to me...or really all that funny.

But I'll probably rent it or d/l it.

It reminds me of when I was in the military and my friend Mark had a best friend who was a lesbian. Because he didn't drink, she would always make him her DD, and he would drive her to a lesbian bar named the Cherokee.

He would always drag my ass to along with him so I could be his "boyfriend" in case he got approached by another man falloff

I kept telling him, "Do you really think that if you told a man who offered you a drink that you were straight, that he would keep persuing you?"

I mean, he went through the trouble of dragging my ass to a lesbian bar--and I *HATE* lesbian bars (no offense gay ladies, but gay men's bars are uber awesome compared to your bars--at least here in Tampa).

The funny thing is that I was always the one approached. lol

That's the funniest thing about homophobia, they seem to think that they are such hot shit that no gay man could resist them, or stop pursuing them even though they knew they were straight. lol

Like that stupid movie where he adopts that one kid or something, and he has neighbor friends who are gay.

But this sounds like a step in the very wrong direction. Hopefully, it's just the movie studio's portrayal of it--like one of those trailers that promises one thing, but delivers another. At least I hope. Cause if it's a cheap poke at The Ghey, it'll be too tacky for words.

Big Daddy in particular had positive gay characters I think. Two of his friends?

yup.

It's like do these jankity looking dudes REALLY think a gay man is actually going to want them?

I'm playing to stereotypes here but gay men, at least here in Tampa, are beautiful. They don't give two shits about some scraggly looking motherfucker with a fishook through his beatup baseball cap and shit. lol

I loved the scene where the case worker was watching the two gay men babysit the kid while everyone was playing poker and drinking beers falloff

Wasn't Sean Astin gay in 50 First Dates, too? IDK, it sounds offensive, but Sandler rarely is, at least to me. We should wait until it comes out(no pun intended) before we judge it.

He seems to include gay people in his movies alot as friends or members of his group. Although not exactly a positive role model, the Boy George wannabe in The Wedding singer had me in stitches.

Was he really transgender? I thought it was just a Boy George parody type of role, and the actor was just being androgynous for the film.

ONe of the reasons I'm laughing so hard is I DJ'd a party once (dont' ask me how I got volunteered to do it), and I was so drunk by the time the party started that I kept playing the same songs over and over again falloff

When Boy Goerge ripped into "Do U really want to hurt me" multiple times in a row, I was like falloff x 1,000,000,000

The irony, of course, is that Focus on the Family et all are going to be tripping over themselves to denounce this movie as yet another example of Hollywood's "gay agenda."

I dunno, can't really form an opinion about the movie till I see it.

But in my 35 gay years I've encountered and befriended many a lisping man. If we want full inclusion in movies we will probably have to live with the sad fact that they won't all be "Brokeback Mountain". lol

I certainly won't go to the movies to catch this one, so I'll have to form an opinion when it's on dvd. razz

falloff falloff

That part had me on the floor. I especially liked all of the instruments he started playing. That scene stole the show for me.

Do I need to lighten up, or does this movie look like an amazingly insulting and offensive piece of crap?

When I saw the trailer with them getting married by a lisping priest and then saw the words TOTALLY STRAIGHT pop on the screen, it was like feeling my civil liberties regress about 15 years. sigh

I'm sure they'll have some feel-good disco dancing scene at the end of the film to prove that they're "down with the gays", but if there's a movie hell, I hope this piece of crap burns in it.

Or, you know, maybe it's subversively cheeky and it was just a misleading trailer.
