What was your teenage job? I worked in a movie theater. It was alright most of the time, but I lived in a yuppie area, so it had its bad parts

I was a tray girl in a nursing home- set up food trays and delivered them for the people who couldn't come to the dining room. Had to wash all the dishes too.
I really liked that job, I got to talk to a lot of really nice old people. I was a waitress for about 2 weeks. I hated that job, though once a cute guy gave me a $4 tip for a $1 cup of coffee. Did a hella lot of baby sitting too. "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss

Hey Red!! The paper round - I was rubbish at, mainly, because I befriended this agoraphobic old lady who was only about the fourth person on my list. I was one of the few people she'd see on a regular basis so we'd stop and chat for AGES, or I'd go on errands, so by the time I got to house number 63 or something, their 'early evening' paper would arrive about 7pm. The supermarket job I LOVED at the time (although it did have its' fair share of annoying moments). Sometimes, I think I'd rather give up doing what I'm doing now and go back to that - I used to have a lot of fun. . [Edited 4/14/07 7:03am]

What was your teenage job? First one was bagging groceries, next was working for the borough street department for two summers, then on a Garbage truck for two summers....EASY AND GOOD MONEY FOR A NINETEEN YEAR OLD! But I have said it now.. oh it sounds like fun times I mean they were really the good old days.. the money I earned went into my post office account and I saved and saved and saved.. first to get a nose job, but my calculations reckoned I couldnt afford one till I was like in my late 50s, so I ended up using the money towards a school ski-ing trip. oh I had lots of fun working there.. I would act all funny and immature if we had no customers in, swinging from counter to counter like a monkey, and I could cos Mum OWNED the shop, so if I was feeling a bitch I used to give the shop assistants I didnt like heaps of trouble, like locking them in the cellar and stuff like that.. but if a customer came in, I was gravely serious and grown up and so very polite.. da,m we had some real freaky regular customers who came in the shop and would wanna stay and chat and chat for ages.. but thats another story.. I may add later.. and yeah I feel so sad I missed last weekend, but it was really unavoidable.. so I am glad I said my goodbyes to Natisse the week before I will love you forever and you will never be forgotten - L.A.F. ![]()

Funnily enough, a lot of the women used to come in and say to my mother (in front of me, like it was some odd courting ritual; I think they wanted to pair me off with their grand-daughters) "Oooh, he's a handsome boy, Alun. Has he got a girlfriend?". And my mother would look at me and say: "Not that I know of but a lot of women do call the house to speak to him". You sound like you were a RIOT to work with!! And, yeah, you do get your fair share of 'interesting' customers. You'll have to tell us your stories, Red. . [Edited 4/14/07 7:57am]
