how do you soothe a little finger burned by a hibachi grill?



i've been keeping ice on it, but it's gonna be bedtime soon. how can i make it stop hurting for her to fall asleep, and then not wake her up with the pain in the middle of the night?

aloe lotion is the best thing.

It's gonna hurt like hell no matter what. Just get drunk...

i wish i had one now. and i don't have any aloe lotion either.

An oral anti-inflammatory (Naproxen, Ibuprofen. . . or if kids can't have those, Tylenol, but the other two are better) and plain aloe vera gel applied to the burn.

I've heard running cold water over it is better than ice.

Most drugstores sell bottled aloe gel. Look in the sunscreen section.

Suck on it and work it in and out.

Not just soothing. Nothing has been proven more effective for healing burned tissue, even in third degree burns.

You can also get triple antibiotic ointment with lidocaine (or something-"caine") in it. . . look for Neosporin Plus Pain, or something like that.
