I've never used showers where its all a bunch of showers in one big shower room. I can't imagine I ever would. My gym has individual, private showers and while I much prefer showering at home (cause there's just too much stuff to lug to the gym) I will shower there occasionally. |

never been to a gym b4 (except the private ones @ a hotel) so i never used the showers there. and i never did P.E. in skewl (i opted out of it and helped teachers and still got As) but i do kno that in elementary, noone changed for gym. "So shall it be written, so shall it be sung..."  | |

if it's the gym i just come home
if it's the pool i generally shower in a stall. but there are only two so sometimes you have to go out in the open lol and then the young boys that are changing with their mothers stare 
p.e. in school would only leave us a couple minutes to change... there was never enough time to shower. just get out that big can of spray deodorant and hurry to your next class.  but we took our clothes home and washed them She couldn't stop crying 'cause she knew he was gone to stay | |

Same here - I only go to the gym when I can come back home & shower (as opposed to going to work from the gym  )... I don't like public showers, locker rooms or the people in them. There's always somebody's hair somewhere, you're scared to put your stuff on any surface, shower shoes & shit - it's all just annoying & inconvenient to me.
Plus an old lady puffed a vicious fart in the locker room once. She had dropped something & was too old to pick it up - I picked it up for her & my face went right into her lethal stink  AND she was naked 
I wanted to slap that old bitch, she knew she fucking farted!!

We never had time to shower after PE at my schools either (except after swimming).
I don't really mind showering at the gym. Other people probably mind me showering there, but I don't care. The thing is, I live a couple of blocks away, so it's much easier to just walk home and shower rather than hauling a bunch of crap around with me. My locker is too small to keep my clothes AND a bunch of shower stuff and still have room for my backpack.oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1! | |

Actually, when I was a kid there's NO way I would have showered with my classmates anyway. That would be like showering with co-workers or something. Showering with strangers at the gym? Fine. Showering with people you don't especially like but have to see every day? I don't think so. I don't know WHY, it just seems wrong. I didn't know gyms still had those big shower rooms. I still wouldn't do it. I'm a prude. Or insecure. Either way, I think even if I had the world's most grogeous body, I still wouldn't shower in front of random strangers. It's just weird. I have gotten over myself enough to change at the gym and take the occasional private shower there. And get dressed in the main dressing room. But anythign more than that is just too much. |

I'm with Carrie on this one. I hate using public changing rooms or urinals, even. I just find it totally archaic. Why is it seen as normal that men take a leak in front of each other but women have separate cubicles? I am such a prude about these things.
