How many languages can you speak? What do you wish you could speak?

I speak fluent English and Spanish and know some Japanese, because I went to a Japanese school, but I would like to learn a third language.

I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

American English
French well enough to pass my language exam for grad school smile
the tiniest bit of Spanish from 2 years in high school
and Princebonics. wink

I wish I was fluent in French (I was, but since I rarely use it, pas encore) and Spanish. If I had the money, I would take language classes again to brush up on both.

I basically grew up with three languages, namely German, English and Turkish and use them every day. Born in Germany as a son of Turkish parents, grew up with American kids because my hometown used to be one of the most important US military bases in Europe. I love them all equally.

English, learnt French and German but have forgotten most of them, although i'd really like to get them up and running again.

I've got a girlfriend with a Greek/Cyprian background. She wants me to work out how to properly say "I Love You" in Greek. Can anyone help me on how to pronounce "S'agapo" the way it should be?

I speak English. I hate being a stupid unilingual American. confused

I really suck at learning languages. I went through more than a year of Spanish, and a year of German, and barely retained anything. And with German I made some real effort.

I'd like to be fluent in German and Japanese. And Spanish, Czech, Dutch, Arabic. . .I'd love to really UNDERSTAND language and how it is related to culture, as a comparison between languages and cultures.

If you have Spanish down then I suppose it would be easier to learn Italian and Portuguese and maybe even French.

Swedish or English is a toss-up for me, Swedish is my first language but I've spoken English as long as I can remember. Most days I speak more English than Swedish anyways, and I mostly think and write (like diary or fiction writing) in English. Then I speak some French, if I studied some more I'd be really good at it. I can curse in Spanish too but that's pretty much it.

I wish I was fluent in French cos it's handy and then...err... Dutch I think biggrin
