Ex-Moderator | I don't get seasick or airsick, but I'll occasionally get car sick if I have to sit in a back seat, or if the sun's shining too much and I CANNOT read in the car or on a bus or I get really, really ill. Head-achey and nauseous. It's awful. |

I get car sick if its too hot, as long as I have fresh air I will be fine. I never knew I would get sea sick until I took a trip to Catalina Island 2 yrs ago. The trip was horrible for me I was not expecting to feel so sick at all you just feel the movement way to much on the Catalina Flyer. Rhythm floods my heart♥The melody it feeds my soul

yeah, I get car sick, but not air or sea sick. Countless times I decorated the side of my dad's car when he didn't stop when I asked him. I have to sit in the front looking forwards or I feel nauseous. Concentrating on music can help.

I would've loved to have sailed like that.....mainly the Carribean though I've heard that the Carribean is spectacular, but you should really try the Stockholm archipelago too. It has some 24.000 islands and you can stop and spend the night pretty much anywhere without having to ask permission or pay anything. It's true freedom. The cliffs are gorgeous and the water is so fresh that you can almost drink it (not kidding). It's the only place in the world where I can always truly wind down without fail.

My stomach used to get a weird feeling in it when riding in the car on long trips when I was little. When I flew to Arizona a couple of years ago (a 3-hour flight), I suddenly got extremely nauseated and had to run to the bathroom on the plane. I dry-heaved for like 10-15 minutes, then it seemed to go away on its own. Strange, because all of the times that I've flown, I've never had that happen to me. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

i don't sick on boats (i live in Florida, I was pratically raised with boats). But I do get carsick or at least feel queasy when we're stuck in a traffic jam and the cars move so ssllow. on planes, I don't get queasy, but my ears pop when the plane goes into the air (they only pop when I'm flying to my destination. when i'm on the way back, they don't pop. go figure.). I don't actually get sick, but the nauseating feeling creeps up when I take long car rides or if I hadn't eaten before traveling. I can only read on BART because it's on tracks and doesn't jerk as much as regular MUNI buses, altho I can ride backwards and read, I'll get that sick feeling.
There are a few precautions that I take when flying or on long car trips (over 3 hours). I will eat something, small meal. If it's a flight, I'll take Bonine either two hours before leaving, or as early as 12 hours before a flight. It causes major drowsiness, so I use the flight to sleep it off. I'd rather take the pill as long as it works, than to feel sick the whole time and ruin the trip. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
