I've heard in the south it's all 'coke'. So if you order a coke they'll ask what kind. I've heard "Cokecola" (said exactly as it looks) used in the South. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 Oh my god....Threadcula needs to see this. I grew up in Iowa and it's 'pop' there. But my college roommate was from St. Louis, so I started saying 'soda' and still do (in Chicago & now NYC). When I go back to Iowa to visit it sounds weird to me to hear people call it pop. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Here in Ohio, we call it "pop". My relatives, who live in New York and New Jersey, call it "soda". As someone stated earlier, it all depends on where you live. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I've heard it called "pop" or "soda" and I used to live in Ohio but now live in Florida. Personally, I call it soda.
Although occasionally in restaurants I ask for a "carbonated beverage" to see if people get confused. HE'S COMING AGAIN

Even someone so sexually illiterate as myself would find that funny. You say 'Man, I could use a DP'? And to Zombie, yeah, if it's for myself, I'll say a ginger beer or a coke, but as I don't tend to drink soft drinks very often, for example, when we have a family barbecue, I'll say something like 'and should we get some soft drinks for Mae and your sister?'
