I say soda, but most of my family says pop.

I've heard in the south it's all 'coke'. So if you order a coke they'll ask what kind.

I've heard "Cokecola" (said exactly as it looks) used in the South.

I grew up in Iowa and it's 'pop' there. But my college roommate was from St. Louis, so I started saying 'soda' and still do (in Chicago & now NYC). When I go back to Iowa to visit it sounds weird to me to hear people call it pop.

Here in Ohio, we call it "pop". My relatives, who live in New York and New Jersey, call it "soda". As someone stated earlier, it all depends on where you live.
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I've heard it called "pop" or "soda" and I used to live in Ohio but now live in Florida. Personally, I call it soda.

Although occasionally in restaurants I ask for a "carbonated beverage" to see if people get confused. hmmm lol

soft drinks, although I just tend to refer specifically to brand names. I think back in the UK when I was a kid I called them 'fizzy pop'.

Juice.

Its all juice. Fizzy juice, as opposed to fruit juice, if you have to be more specific.

MEIJER had the best store-brand, generic rice-o-roni imitation I ever tasted (better than rice-o-roni!). After I left the state of Michigan I bought about $40 dollars worth of it. Two crates. Used it for about a year or so. lol

And everything was mucho cheap in that state compared to where I live now. Even the cars.

Yup, but more in the sense like, "I need to pick up some soft drinks for tonight".

Otherwise I just say 'DP' (diet pepsi).

lol

Even someone so sexually illiterate as myself would find that funny. You say 'Man, I could use a DP'?

And to Zombie, yeah, if it's for myself, I'll say a ginger beer or a coke, but as I don't tend to drink soft drinks very often, for example, when we have a family barbecue, I'll say something like 'and should we get some soft drinks for Mae and your sister?'

Funny you say that.

My friend and I once went into 7/11 and she said loudly (not thinking about what she was saying), "Oh God, I've been dying for some DP all day!".

The cashier looked like he was gonna pass out.

Here you could exclaim right in the middle of 7/11, "Goodness, I sure could use being double stuffed in both my holes right about now" amd no-one would bat an eyelid. falloff
