Miracle Mile, is that the same as Mid-Wilshire? That's a great place for apartments, near La Brea & Wilshire. You don't need to live in a dump. And it's close to everything, though not exactly in the middle of the action.

nod i live 2 blocks west of LaBrea. Love the neighborhood and location.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

My first apartment in Hollywood didn't have closets. And I'm not saying that because they are so small as to be useless--there are no closets.

The one we're moving into now (next door) apparently doesn't have a refrigerator. I can't believe the shit that landlords get away with in this state. mad

I'm gonna miss you cold bottled water.

The Miracle Mile area is beautiful. Great apartments all between Wilshire and La Brea.

Everything is so centrally located, too, right by The Grove and Little Ethiopia, the Westside, Melrose, Venice, lots of restaurants, that's a beautiful area to live.

Have you looked into Studio City?

That's another cool place that's respectable on the pockets.

Echo Park is a little more central, you can try that, too. Lots of Silver Lake types living there now.

here you have to have your own fridge wherever you move, no apartments or houses are rented with them, unless they are furnished.

We moved it when the landlord came by for the old key. So I gave him the key after testing the new vs.old (they look the same). And I still gave him the new key! Cue me and my roommate being locked out for twenty minutes late last night. I did go to El Pollo Loco, though. cool

I would be willing to bet that the "no frig" thing is the result of some stupid California environmental regulation that landlords (i.e., business owners) are subject to, but individuals are not. Rather than deal with it, they just choose not to supply refrigerators anymore.

That is a guess -- but it's the only reason I can think of for a landlord not to supply a refrigerator.

Hell, when I bought my condo, all the appliances (save a washer and dryer) were included. And the place was new -- it wasn't like the former owner just decided to sell the appliances with the place.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
