Yep. And to think this is the ONLY Icelandic TV show that is being exported to other countries at the moment. disbelief

Believe me, there are a few cool local shows here, just NOT on children's TV.

Yep. The show Lazy Town (or Latibær in Icelandic) was created by Icelandic aerobics champion Magnús Scheving (the guy who plays Sportacus) and was originally a play in Iceland, then turned into a TV show, and after that they made the show in English with American and Icelandic actors in an Icelandic TV studio. The guy who plays Robbie Rotten is a famous (in Iceland) Icelandic actor. I think the girl with the pink hair is American.

Oh, and while we have quite a few actors here, if you consider the small population here, it seems like we always the same usual suspects doing children's TV or "dubbing" foreign films and shows intended for children (all films not specifically for children only have subtitles, thank god lol ). I did hear one bizarre thing just recently. The Simpsons Movie will be available in theaters both in English (with Icelandic subtitles) AND Icelandic. I kind of dread hearing Homer's voice in Icelandic. disbelief

I'm a huge fan of Max & Ruby. It's slow paced and relaxing, and I love Ruby's voice. Pretty soothing when you're sick, or hungover lol

ok- this has been on my MIND ALL WEEK ... cus my 2 yr old is wakin me up early - like 6 ... and i have to watch this crap !!!

1 Teletubbies

2 BOOBAH

ok. for those of you NOT in the loop. I do believe both of these were created by British Drug experts. The creators HAD to be HIGH . Period. I lump these 2 together because to adults - they are borderline UNWATCHABLE unless you have a fully packed BOWL ... serious. try it without . then u will see what i mean ...

3. Wiggles . What is it ? cant the US invent fucked up children's shows??? They really changed this show since i watched it a few years ago... with the lead singer gone ... they have kids dressed as the WIGGLES and Capt feathersword has gone from being like a VANITY charactor to being main actor !!!! what the _____ .... it always sucked- but now it really bites ....

4 Mickey Mouse Clubhouse - ok . score one for the US .... they completely RIP OFF DORA THE EXPLORER .... ugh ... and what is up with the computer generated crap ???? when they dance - it is oh my baddddd.... isnt WALT DISNEY "inventor " of innovative cartoons/movies, etc !!??

thoughts??? confused neutral

Teletubbies are SO irratating, but a good show for the one year olds...came in handy for my little one's.

As for THE WIGGLES, i have to thank them for the many hours of babysitting they have provided lol educational too..took my kids to see them live twice, same with the annoying DOODLEBOPS (from Canada) who are very talented BTW (live)

and Blue's Clue's has been a Godsend.....all educational, at the same time keep the little ones happy for a spell, so the adults can have a little free time

Is the way I look at it

abt the Wiggles... apparently alot of parents love it, cause when the "yellow singer" (no clue wat that means) said he was leaving the show, tons of parents protested it and started a petition to make the guy stay in the show. it prolly amounted to nothing, but they were in an uproar then.

don't kids watch Sesame Street or Barney nemore- those were a bit educational.
