The show Lazy Town (or Latibær in Icelandic) was created by Icelandic aerobics champion Magnús Scheving (the guy who plays Sportacus) and was originally a play in Iceland, then turned into a TV show, and after that they made the show in English with American and Icelandic actors in an Icelandic TV studio. The guy who plays Robbie Rotten is a famous (in Iceland) Icelandic actor. I think the girl with the pink hair is American. Oh, and while we have quite a few actors here, if you consider the small population here, it seems like we always the same usual suspects doing children's TV or "dubbing" foreign films and shows intended for children (all films not specifically for children only have subtitles, thank god ). I did hear one bizarre thing just recently. The Simpsons Movie will be available in theaters both in English (with Icelandic subtitles) AND Icelandic. Teletubbies are SO irratating, but a good show for the one year olds...came in handy for my little one's. As for THE WIGGLES, i have to thank them for the many hours of babysitting they have provided educational too..took my kids to see them live twice, same with the annoying DOODLEBOPS (from Canada) who are very talented BTW (live)
and Blue's Clue's has been a Godsend.....all educational, at the same time keep the little ones happy for a spell, so the adults can have a little free time Is the way I look at it  | |
