Exercise in the Home..

Ok so I have noticed its that time of year and people here have told of their worries and woes of trying to lose weight

but what if you dont have access to a gym, or dont feel confident just yet to join one?

What are some exercises you can do at home that we can all join in with?

And that doesnt mean adjusting your webcam or lifting alcoholic drink to mouth..

lol

seriously

I lost alot of weight. ok I walked miles and swam miles and combined it with cutting down on food, eating healthy and exercising, but I hated the gym and did my own exercises in the comfort of my own home..

When I watched tv I used to sit with my legs wide apart.. (no its not pornographic) lemme find a pic..

one sec..

Ok I cant find the damned picture.. mad

here is one I posted earlier

and lets wait for this thread to get deleted.. lol

I was easily the biggest fat-ass in my gym when I started. And I didn't care. lol But I know that this is about home stuff: I have an elliptical, and really good pilates DVDs.

If you take the time to stretch as much as you're working out, you'll lose weight and get leaner faster. I lost three dress sizes before one pound came off. confused Plus, you gain flexibility and there ain't a thing wrong with that. wink

I just bought the Cindy Crawford - Shape your body DVD, I remember I use to do this when I was in high school and it had some great arm exercises. So what I am doing is walking a mile at a track near my home. Going to the gym for 30 min and doing 2 miles on the eliptical and then doing my arm exercised at home from what I can remember from the DVD until it gets here biggrin . Can't wait to do it again, good situps too.

I just lift dumbbells at home every other day, do sit-ups every morning and occasionally just put some music on in my bedroom and jog on the spot. I do stretches most mornings and sometimes play badminton out the front of the house. Soon I'm going to start swimming regularly at a new place just up the road. woot!

Exercise at home is, in my opinion, one of the best ways to get into shape. Often, people think that because they have a gym memebership card in their bag that they are getting fit. Also, many times you find yourself using the sauna more than the equipment. Then u gotta worry about travelinf time back and forth from the gym. All valuable time.

I work out purley from home, 6 days a week.

I have no fancy gym equipment.

I concrentrate on two styles of training, these are -

*Cardiovascular - this is any type of exercise which gets the heart rate up, such as, jogging, swimming, areobics.

personally i skip solidly for 3 minutes.. 1 minute rest (repeat 5 times). 10 minutes skipping has been found to be as effective as 30 minutes jogging.

shadow box - move around the area, keep your guard up. Punch, jab, hook, uppercut. block. dance. use very light weights if u wish to increase the intensity. again 3 minutes on, 1 minute rest (repeat 5 times). Sounds easy? ok, try and throw 100 punches alternate hands as fast as u can now. this shit fucks u up.

this combine this with some joggin and u have the basics of a serious fat burning workout.

now your burning fat and using calories, we need to tone the muscle underneath now.

This is achieved by doing *Calisthentics

this is simply using your own body weight and the force of gravity as your resistence. For instance, a press-up is the same as doing a bench press at the gym. However, u can do press-ups anywhere.

Concentrate on your core

Press ups
crunches
squats
pull ups

there are many variants of these types of exercises. My advice would be to select say 3 variants of both press up and crunch. start simply and advance to more difficult exercises as your training goes on. start on whats comfortable to you. maybe just five on each exercise if that, perhaps 3.

Cardio is overrated. Ever wondered why there are some fat fucks who still run a fucking marathon? If all you want to do is lose fat, then adjusting your diet is the key.

Haystack

Buy a Nintendo Wii with the Wii Sports game included.

All the games are quite knackering, but the boxing takes the cake for the most strenuous video game ever! I'm always out of breath and my arms are killing me by the time I've finished.

Great exercise and great fun!

Either that or more and more sex until you explode with ecstacy. biggrin

Well, Ive' been on a bland diet since Valentine's Day and have lost about 19 pounds now.
I really like spicy food. I mostly put Jalapenos on a lot of my food.

Over the years I've found working out at home to be much more productive for me, my concentration and focus on doing the workouts and exercises properly is better. Not to mention the convince, of just walking around the corner and down the hall to my own bathroom when I’m finished… love that because I hated getting in my car all funky and sweaty after a workout.

I used to be one seriously fat fuck until I introduced cardio into my life. Now I can eat just about anything I want as long as I stick with it.

I used to go to the gym every single day...but I decided I could get good results with a home program. I have been doing it for about a year now and I enjoy the results. My key item for my at home gym is my JUMP ROPE. I love that thing. As others have said, about 10 minutes of jumping rope equals 30 minutes of running. It's easy on your joints and helps with coordination and agility.

Next, I use a few dumbbells. I will do bicep curls and some exercises to work the back(go to bodybuilding.com to find some exercises that are only work with dumbbells). You can work your whole body with different exercises using a pair of dumbbells. I added some pushups and chair dips to the program(Take a pair of chairs have them face each other. Set your legs on one chair and hold yourself up by your arms on the other chair. Lower your body weight as far as you can to the ground then push yourself back up). The beauty about most of these exercises is that I can do them no matter where I am at.
