Yes.

Nothing, you just die and thats it?
Sometimes I wonder.....but I like prefer the Heaven idea.

And why?
Cuz I'm a Christian.
Because I've had prayers answered.

lol, you didnt need to answer all the questions, but thanks for getting it started.. do you believe you will meet all your lost family and friends when you enter heaven? I have read a few books about the idea of heaven, and I guess cos I was brought up by nuns, that still sits in my mind.. there MUST be something more than this life, but we must try and do and achieve great things now, whether just kindness and happiness, love and faith..

I mean its a question really nobody can answer here, so I am really interested in hearing everyones opinions

Okay I see.

Well. I have no idea.

Honestly. If we don't go to see our dead loved ones.

Then I don't wanna go.

If I get there and my Dads not there I'm gonna pissed. Send me back down to Hell.

But I know my Dads in Heaven. Another reason I have my faith.

I was pregnant with my son when my dad died. About 2 days after his funeral I started hyperventilating. My husband put me in the car and started driving me to my gynecologist. lol Like what were THEY gonna do? lol

Anyways, I calmed down before we even got half way there, so he turned around.

I just started PRAYING to God, saying show me a sign, show me a sign that my Dad is in Heaven.

And Spirit in the Sky came on the radio.

No lie.

Other ppl will laugh at this, but I don't care. It's all I have, and I believe it.

aww thats beautiful.. hug I believe in things like that. No matter what anyone says to me, skeptics and stuff, I still believe.

I am sorry your Daddy died, I didnt know.. sad I cannot imagine! hug

I once said to my therapist - many years ago - there has gotta be more. She said no.. I cannot believe she gave her own personal opinion.. cos she made me even more depressed.. and I said well if there is no A to B, whats the fucking point in life? It cant just be this game? I felt like a fucking video game and someone was pressing all the buttons and having a laugh at my expense.

Shit.. I came out real upset. sad

I believe there are signs.. nod you just have to have faith and open your eyes to them, you will see them.. smile

Wrong forum, Red. lol

But to answer your question, no. I don't believe in any consciousness after death, I don't believe in a human soul that carries on after we're gone.

I don't find it depressing at all that this is all there is. If anything, it's motivating. If this is all I get, I had better make it as good as I can.

Cause that's what makes the most sense to me. And I've seen/read/heard/experienced nothing to show me otherwise.

I have never been religious and I don't consider myself spiritual. But that doesn't mean I'm emotionless or have no passions, etc.

As for why we're here? What the point is? I don't believe there IS a cosmic "why". I think "the point" is what you make it to be.

That's pretty awesome actually, no joke nod Even if someone wanted to argue that it was just a bizarre coincidence that comforted you, the point is that it did comfort you.

I think people can be better off mentally/spiritually when they believe in something...

I don't really get the whole "I'm not gonna do something cause it's a sin" thing. lol I mean, I understand where the notion of it came from. But I think people are perfectly capable of weighing all the possible outcomes of any situation and making their own decisions, whether that be sex before marriage, or adultery or I don't know, whatever. We don't need someone making up rules like that.

Oh I definetly agree.

People who have good morals don't HAVE to be religious.

They can do that on their own.

like all things religious i have my own take on things
and like surething, the desire to connect with an immediate family member is a motivating factor. do i recognize that is a very self serving belief and i really have no clue? oh yeah.

my thoughts are that we don't take on a physical form but exist as an invisible spiritual entity. that we support those that come after us and are free to exist on any plain that we choose. some may be here with us sometimes and some may be a part of the life force that is the universe itself.

I don't believe in reincarnation or heaven. I know that it excists.
I know who I was in a past life and I've also been in heaven (there are more than one).
When u die, your physical bodies dies but your spiritual soul lives on in higher dimensions. After a couple of years one can decide to go back to earth and embody a new physical form (reincarnation).Life on earth gives u a chance to grow in spirit. Once u are an all loving and wise person u can stay in the higher dimensions. Then u won't have to go back to earth.
Basically, we are all here to Live4Love.

I understand your answer "thats what makes most sense to me", and if that what you are comfortable with, then it works for you.

I do not think you are less emotional or have less passions.. thats what fascinates me, that we all CAN believe in different things and make our own decisions and be comfortable with them..

I think 'death' is part of an evolution into other sensory perceptions that we could only aquire through being born into this level of consciousness.

Reincarnation? yes

Heaven? yes, but no the Christian heaven

Nothing, you just die and thats it? I used to, and I used to love it.

I'm Buddhist. I converted about 5 years ago from being atheist. I don't believe some of what I read in Buddhism, mostly involving Mahayanist stories, but I don't think Buddhism requires you buy off on the whole enchilada so long as you know how to practice the correct precepts towards enlightenment. shrug
