Yeah, there are some sexual hang ups but at least the government doesn't edit movies like it does in some countries. I watched this French Movie called Fat Girl. And they showed this guys putting a condom on his full erected penis a million times. I saw that movie in the theater. I think you're exaggerating a bit with "a million times". The French film 'Pola X' had some real sex goin' on in it also.

"Death Proof" I want to see again! Yeah, the music was good, but he's usually pretty good with the use of music. "Blow Out"? Is that where I heard that song from? There was one song in "Death Proof" that I know I heard in another movie before. I was thinking "Night of the Lepus" though. I wonder if it's gonna be on the soundtrack, because I wanna the name of it. Grindhouse. Saw it. Loved it. The 70s thing brought back memories.
1st half started out kind of confusing, but was so fast paced it worked itself out quickly, not a whole lot of long drawn out dialog. Gory, corny, funny and action packed. Rodriguez made it work, no lose ends from what I saw. Rose, liked her before, love her now. Gotta look up Ava Gardner. 2nd half, a lot more character developement, very intense, not as gory, but what gore there was hit hard. Zoe, you are the woman. Yeah, you are okay Tracie, tapped that @** real good.

Saw it last night. A Tarantino movie is like a drunken one-night stand: It's sooo fun, but there is such guilt afterwards!
!!!!WARNING: POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW!!!! Things I liked: * Freddy Rodriguez. He rocked it! He was definitely an underused talent on Six Feet Under, and it's good to see him in the limelight. * Rose McGowan. I went in hating her... and I only now realized why! (I'd been confusing her with Shannen Doherty -- a COMPLETELY different gal -- whom I CAN'T STAND!!!) Rose did a great job. Simultaneously funny and sexy. Almost makes up for the whole Marilyn Manson embarrassment. * Sydney Tamila Poitier. Um... WOW! * Nice to see some B-Movie royalty acknowledged: Sybil Danning (who doesn't seem to age), Jeff Fahey (who has aged quite a bit... but he still has those great eyes), etc. * Jack Nitzsche's song "The Last Race" as featured in Death Proof. I first heard that song as a 9-year-old insomniac in the HORRIBLE cult classic Village of the Giants. I loved the whole drugged-out surfer feel and have had that guitar line buried in my head for over 25 years. Now -- finally -- I not only have the name of it, but a remastered version of it courtesy the Death Proof soundtrack!!! Things I didn't like: * Eli Roth with too much eye liner on! Dude looked like friggin' Lady Bunny. Ruined what otherwise might have been some pretty decent eye candy. * Werewolf Women of the SS was wack. The idea is great... and the execution could've been funny. But it came off as trying too hard to be campy a la Howling 2 (which actually was laughable, because it made no hard attempt to be.) And Nick Cage as Fu Manchu was lame. They could've gotten someone really fun like Christopher Lee!! * The gore was lame. I had no problem with the amount of it, actually. But if you're gonna use gallons of blood, make it look real!! I understand this was supposed to be a jab at bad horror, but the gore looked so fake that I was lost on its gross-out factor. The splattering blood during Planet Terror's shoot-outs should have been black, not bright red! (It was NIGHT, for goodness sake!) The blood on Kurt Russell's windshield looked like red Behr paint! And Quentin's melting genitalia looked like some meatballs in melting cheese. They could've hit us better than that. * I thought the Zoe Bell/Tracie Thoms/Rosario Dawson banter was inconsistent in Death Proof. Their conversation was alterately fun and downright boring. Overall, it was a flawed redux of the earlier (and superior) conversation at the bar among the first set of girls. Plus the profanity -- even though it was supposed to be excessive -- came off as fake and distracting. The long, single-take shot in the cafe was ambitious, but the acting was just not convincing throughout. The girls MORE than made up for it in the chase scene, though. They did a great job there! (Tracie's tears, for example, were a PERFECT subtle touch. I'd like to think they were real and not glycerin.) SPOILERS OVER ...OK, 'nuff of my two cents. And who the heck cares anyway? Tarantino and Rodriguez made a few million bucks this weekend. I'm broke, unknown and writing about them as I lay in bed in my jammies. :lol [Edited 4/10/07 8:34am] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
