But isn't it goofy that the filmmakers have to go through all that? Why can't the MPAA be more open, honest, reasonable & CLEAR about their rulings? It's a ridiculous system, & those bitches are seriously hung up on sex...

Have you ever seen "Be Cool"? In the first part they are talking about ratings and the John Travolta character says something like "in a PG-13 you can only say the F word one time otherwise it is an R. But i say F*** that" now they joke is the movie is PG13 and that is the only time it was used.

Now when you have sex, language, and violence there is no check list they can use. and i know it is arbitrary and not that consistent but at least it is something. And if there was a check list or rubric I would bet it would lead to more NC-17 ratings than there are now.

Never saw "Be Cool", looked like it was trying to hard...

That's cool that you like the system & all, but I think these people are fucked in the head when it comes to sex vs. violence & they need to address that shit. America is SO FUCKED UP when it comes to this stuff exclaim

It is not that I like it, just that I want to know what to expect in terms of content, without having research it. Just look at the rating, and more importantly, the description.

Yeah, there are some sexual hang ups but at least the government doesn't edit movies like it does in some countries.

I realize that, but Convoy wasn't a B movie. It was a huge commercial success. Everybody had a CB radio after that movie. Hell, John Singleton is currently making a remake of Convoy. 10-4,good buddy?

NO MORE RE-MAKES DAMN-IT!!! Why can't Hollywood get it together and make some original stuff.

I've been waiting forever to see it. I can't wait. Possibly Monday matinee.
I remember seeing the trailer a while back and I was shouting at the screen. After the trailer I sat there with my jaw to the floor. I hope it meets up to my expectations.

i just saw the beginning of the "Thanksgiving" trailer and thought it was so funny that I stopped it on utube to wait for the theatre.

A friend of mine told me that "thansgiving" the trailer is the most funny solid highpoint of the whole thing...simply brilliant.

oh I forgot, dont take your bathroom break until AFTER you see the Thanksgiving 'trailer'. Its the last part of the intermission just before the second movie starts.

Death Proof:

if Death Proof is the second part (and longer) and you thought it was shorter, then it must be a lot better!

wow, maybe the second part was better as I thought it was shorter. lol

yes. "death proof", tarantino's film, is far superior. The dialogue is loads better, for starters.

I personally liked Planet Terror better. I have a thing for straight up zombie slasher movies. lol It was non stop action. The beginning with Rose dancing reminded me of Faster Pussycat Kill Kill. Rose as predicted was good in that, but Freddy Rodriguez stole the show, imo. He was kinda sexy while kicking ass. "Death Proof" was more developed, but I felt like it was rushed close to the end, like Quentin spent too much time on the storyline and trying to develop characters. I think it should've been a lot longer, so the ending wouldn't have been rushed. The car chase and ending was great though. cool Did you cringe at that part in Planet Terror? All men should've. lol I know I cringed at the Thanksgiving trailer. ouch. shake I wish those trailers were real. I'd definitely see all of them....especially "Don't" and "Thanksgiving". "Don't" was hilarious.....the type of movie I'd get a kick out of. Don't. Don't.Don't.Don't.Don't.Don't. lol At first I thought it was gonna be a straight up throwback to B movies, but there were modern references thrown in with retro ones. It was kinda weird. We were like "wtf? a cell phone and text messaging?" lol I think I was more excited about the Halloween trailer than anything. I almost squealed when I was it. I can't wait for that one.

He was in one of those mini trailers, but it's being turned into a full length film. He's amazing with those knives. lol

Actually, I'd rather see the werewolf Nazi movie(title?). And probably "Machete". I think Tarantino ended the movie like that because it was common in that genre, but I could be wrong. It couldn't have been more perfect in my eyes. Planet Terror was fine, but it's just an example of the genre while Death Proof actually improves upon it. Never really rated Rodriguez, though. Also could've done with less testes in Planet Terror.

And what Halloween trailer?

Yeah, all of the trailers were good.....that Rob Zombie one about the Nazis and werewolves was the worst out of all of them though. lol

I just saw it. "Death Proof" blew me away. I had no idea how honed Tarrantino could be. Everything from the use of music from "Blow Out" to the incredible action of the cars blew everything else away in "Grindhouse" in my opinion. The acting, the shots, the story... all so perfect.

"Death Proof" I want to see again!
