I See Celebrities, too! But Usually I Don't Talk to Them.

The highlights(?) of my celeb-watching in L.A.(Nov.-today):

the fat guy from My Name is Earl
Sue from Swingers
the short old dude from New York Dolls
Slash
Tate Donovan
Danny Bonaduce
Elisha Cuthbert
Ian Ziering
the cute Jewish girl from David Spade's show
Adriana from the Sopranos
Karen O.
Warren(from Buffy)

And I've actually talked to David Lynch. biggrin

it's best when your friends are friends with a famous person and you get to meet them in a natural social situation. even then, it's like hanging out with someone who has a cat head growing out of their neck. "oh, that meow came from you? i TOTALLY didn't notice!" redface

It's just funny that he was hip enough to name-drop but wasn't well known enough to stand out in appearance at a party

Except for Slash, those people are not even really famous, maybe in small town, but in LA.

David Lynch isn't famous? And I never made any claims as to their famousness, but most of them are celebrities by any standard. If that's a word and it probably isn't.

Oh yea, David is A-list cool, what did you talk about? I was just referring to the Danny Bona-douche, Ian Ziering, and the cute Jewish girl from David Spade's show...etc

We talked Mulholland Drive, which I bought the French special edition of because it's rad(and it seemed like he appreciated that) and we asked him when season two of Twin Peaks would be out. The funny thing is, it just came out this week, but when we talked to him in November, he had no idea when it was coming out. You think they'd let the creator know. lol

Yea, David is on some whole other shit, I still don't understand Blue Velvet or Twin Peaks, yet the imagery is still vivid and memorable. I aspire to his level of creativity..and he has cool hair.

No. I've been to enough Lords of Acid album release parties to know all about Amanda Lepore. lol

I forget who it was. I think she dated some reality TV person or something? I don't know. I just remember the particulars of her fame weren't nearly as interesting as her outfit and hair. shrug

She was the girlfriend of the Navy(?) guy that was beaten to death in Florida a while back. They made a movie about it called A SOLDIERS GIRL. She did a cameo in Transamerica.

I work with someone who has to have their own security/bodyguards. shrug To me I only care if they show up and do what they're supposed to do. I'm so oblivious when I'm walking around NYC that I walk by celebrities and don't even notice until after the fact. Also, I don't watch a ton of TV or movies so a lot of times I don't even know who the people are, period (like this thread, I have no idea who most of the 'celebs' mentioned are).
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
