I'm so oblivious when I'm walking around NYC that I walk by celebrities and don't even notice until after the fact. Also, I don't watch a ton of TV or movies so a lot of times I don't even know who the people are, period (like this thread, I have no idea who most of the 'celebs' mentioned are).
i would never notice a reality tv star, and when they're pointed out to me i'm never quite sure to what extent i'm supposed to care. then again, if mary vivien pearce or sylvia miles were to walk past us, most of my friends would probably respond the same way to me as i do to reality tv stars.

Amanda Leopre? i saw her once walking around Manhattan, in Chelsea no less. I was coming home from work and I was all like, "i think that's that transgendered person all those org people are alwasy talking about..." I also saw that comic from the show insomniac. His first name is David and I forget the rest of his name. I've met the following celebrities at work: Susan Sarandon (my favorite! so polite and respectful) Jai and Tom from Queer Eye Ethan Hawke Some french lady who was in a movie with ethan hawke Elisabeth Rohm from Law and Order Mary Kate Olsen (she looked like a damned crack head, seriously)

Oooh, that reminds me the only people I do see & seem to recognize are from reality shows. Lame, huh? I saw Rob & Amber from Survivor & Amazing Race at LaGuardia and one of Trump's apprentices sat next to me at the airport too. She was checking her voice mail and writing notes down, I was totally trying to read them. And I saw another apprentice (Sean? the British guy) walking down Lexington. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

He was in VirginMegastore in Irving, Texas buying CD's with his bodyguard. I remember he picked up Mariah Carey's "Glitter" CD and snickered as he tossed it back on the shelf. The cashiers were having a heart attack. He just looked like some goofy, unshaven, doped up white guy to me.

Having navigated the waters of that "A"-List underworld, I will say that most of them were human.....I can run down about a thousand meetings really, but the one that sticks out in my mind is Jill Scott last week, and Laurence Fishburne when he was teasing my dog outside of that "high-end" grocery store on Fairfax and Sunset across from Rite-Aid. We actually had a nice conversation about 9/11.
I've been V.I.P. at superbowls and that is something to witness! I have Dennis Rodman to my right and Eddie George on my left both just chillin' and then I go to Jay-Z's and Alonzo Mourning's beach party in Miami kickin' with them and li'l ass Jermaine Dupri and my homeboy Curtis Martin is yelling my name...Dex..what the hell you doin here! Then there is the time I smoked WestCoast Purple for the first time with a certain rapper while Jamie Foxx and Taye Diggs are throwing jokes at each other. I walked through Allen Iverson's entire entourage and told him I appreciate his attitude in dealing with the NBA powers that be and that I was a longtime fan of his game. When I walked away...he asked his crew...."who the fuck was that?"...I was crackin up...as they said....We thought you knew him! I guess my size does matter. I just have been blessed to have mixed it up with Athletes, Actors/Actresses, Politicians, and found them all to be common folk...they just are in the public eye far too much for their comfort zones to be respected. I, too, saw her crossing the street in Chelsea on 14th & 7th a few months ago when I was headed towards Union Square. I think she most likely lives in that area.

I'd probably lose touch if I had people walking around dressing like me, impersonating me, stalking me, infatuated with me, staring at me, etc! Wouldn't you?
