I've read it 4 times and have seen the movie at least that many times too. It's such a great story and so beautifully written.

i've read it 3 times, seen the movie probably 10 times, and seen the musical... which i actually didn't like.

you should read "the hours" by michael cunningham. it's another in my top 3, and also an incredible work about women, though written by a gay man.

I've read the Hours and saw the movie too. Enjoyed the book very much. I read all the time. I couldn't live without it. I know that's overly dramatic, but I really feel that way. It's something that I truly enjoy.

there is no shame in reading, at least not in america where not enough people read anything other than the names of the american idol contestants as they cg it over them.

I love Marquez; need to take Cholera for another spin.
A couple weeks ago, I had 2 consecutive nights where I woke up at 2AM & couldn't get back to sleep until 4...his Memoirs of My Melancholy Whores got me through a rough patch. It's a slight novelette, but beautiful.

Thanks for the plug on Memoirs of my Melancholy Whores. I've been wondering about it. I will pick it up for sure. Love in the Time of Cholera is such an amazing love story. It blows me away.

That's hot.

But my favorite book of all times is probably a tie between Lord of the Flies and Speaker for the Dead with The Count of Monte Cristo coming in a close second.
