Returning Shopping Carts

Three years ago I moved from the Chicago land area to Southern Texas. Shopping at stores like Walmart and Target are dangerous for your vehicle. No one returns shopping carts. Once shoppers are finished with the cart, they push it aside next to your door or behind the car. There is no attempt to return it. When I go back north, I am reminded that this is not normal behavior. Or is it?

How are the parking lots in your area?

I fucking hate cunts who do that. They have no regard nor respect for people or their property. It seems to be occurring everywhere now-a-days. I've found it highly prevalent in London especially, where the mass majority forget their manners on the bed side dresser in a glass of water containing their teeth ..... along with their brains.

Where I live, there's a big problem with purse snatchers in grocery store lots. If the return rack is nearby, I'll return it, after placing my purse in the car where it isn't visible.
I always keep my eye out for what's going on around me when loading groceries in the trunk. I don't leave the cart where it's inconveniant for other shoppers.

when i was a kid, i was always made to return shopping carts when we went shopping.

as an adult, i don't have a car, so i don't use shopping carts. i use the hand-held carts, because if it can't fit in, chances i can't schlep it home via public transpo (unless i call a cab, of course). so i rarely even USE the things.

people are a trip, though. disbelief

clapping - I totally agree. I also despise people who think they can just park in the handicapped spot because it's closer to the entrance. I'm noticing this more and more lately. What's wrong with people? I could literally strangle these inconsiderate assholes.

falloff Most of the time the return spot is only a few feet away too. Sheer laziness! mad It's worse when one is blocking a good parking space.

That would be and yet I still manage to always return the cart.

Non-returners are fucking idiots.

I don't know if you guys have the same system, but here you have to put a 5 kronor coin (around $1) into a box on the cart's handlebar in order to release the cart from a chain. Then when you return it you get your coin back. Because of this, it rarely if ever happens that you see abandoned carts.

They stopped doing that here about 10 years ago. I'm not sure why.

retina you lived here, didn't you encounter the loonie carts? some places have them, some don't. walmart being the biggest offender and the place you are most likely to get assholes leaving their carts everywhere pissed

and yes, i still return my cart when i have kids with me. although it's easy now they are older. when they are babies and you buckle them into their seats and turn around to take the cart back cop i wouldn't get mad at anyone leaving the cart in that situation. confused

Last time I went to Trader Joe's, there was only ONE parking spot left and a cart was left sitting in it! I was so mad! I just drove into spot anyway, and nudged the cart with my car. The cart return was only a few yards away!
