CBS announces date and details of King Of Queens finale
CBS in May will feature a royal farewell to 'The King Of Queens' when the comedy ends its nine-year,200-plus episode run with a special one-hour episode airing on Monday,May 14 at 9:00 PM.

After nine seasons and over 200 episodes,will Doug finally become a dad and get his little prince or princess? Will Arthur (Jerry Stiller) find true love and move out of the basement?

CULVER CITY,Calif.-"I'm not moving anything out of my dressing room just yet," said Leah Remini,still holding out hope for a 10th season of 'King Of Queens'.

The cast and crew of the stalwart CBS sitcom,along with network and studio executives and hundreds of others,had gathered earlier this year to celebrate the show's 200th episode-only the seventh time a TV comedy has done that since 1990.The cake was enormous and the steins of Heineken overflowed,yet the mood was bittersweet.Despite Remini's optimism,series star Kevin James-with a film career looming- had decreed he was abdicating as "King".

"All good things must end and unfortunately this is," he would say.

The show returns April 9 at 9:30 p.m for it's final seven episodes.Althought the April 9 show is the series' 200th episode,the producers opted against any special anniversary theme.The Heffernans find out how best friends Deacon (Victor Williams) and Kelly (Merrin Dungey) can afford a vacation home when they can't.Then the following week,Doug decides to become a vegetarian after accidentally hitting a chicken with his car and keeping it as a pet.

After that,the remaining episodes will begin tying all the show's loose ends together,including whether Doug and Carrie will finally have a baby,and how Carrie's cranky old father,Arthur,moves out of their wood-paneled basement.

Oh well....at least the show will live on in re-runs and seasons 1-7 are available on DVD.Who else loves this show?

Me too It's hilarious! TV is filled with alot of stupid reality shows but I prefer sitcoms,especially when they are funny and well-written.

I'm really sad this show is being canceled because I really don't think there are enough sitcoms on TV about fat schlub blue collar guys with impossibly hot wives and precocious, streetsmart offspring. I feel like a part of me is dying.

Me too! But I never know when it's on. I usually catch it in reruns. It's still too bad that it's ending. Kevin James is adorable, and Leah Remini is so gorgeous and tough. I just love her!

The final seven episodes will begin airing on Mondays on CBS at 9:30 PM (check your local listings).The reruns are shown every Monday thru Friday on the CW network.In my area,they show two episodes back to back,beginning at 6:00 PM.

I love Leah Remini too She's tough and alot of fun to watch.

Yeah,they've changed the time slots so many times! This season,the show has been put on the back burner at CBS a few episodes would air,then we wouldn't see it again for several more weeks.Thankfully,they have finally found a slot for the final seven episodes.

In any case,I'm glad that seasons 1-7 are available on DVD.This final season will likely make it's way to DVD too.

i never got to see this show until it was already out for a while. i caught it in re-runs. it's 1 of maybe 3 shows i bother to watch. i'm hoping there will be a dvd collection.

I also discovered this show after it had been around for awhile! In fact,the first episodes I saw were reruns.I got hooked instantly.I wish I had been watching it from the beginning (it premiered in the fall of 1998),but it's cool.I can go back and get the DVDs.

CBS just can't pickup a decent comedy. NONE of their shows are funny... although for some unGodly reason I'm watching Rules of Engagement -it's so damn dumb & fake, what the FUCK is with me??? I guess I just like seeing David Spade as a loser/ass

I really don't see how a show like 2 1/2 Men even gets mentioned during Emmy time - haven't they won some shit?? WTF But something incredibly funny like Arrested Development get's fucking cancelled???

Anyway, I never watched this shit... & Anx is right - what's up w/ the fug husbands & the wives who could do much better yet love their dumb asses? I just don't get it. CBS is incredibly stale television when it comes to comedy
